Industry Standard for a Good Reason
Tether Tools is the industry standard for photographers who are looking to shoot "tethered" (or directly connected) to their PC and professionals rely on Tether Tools for a good reason. The cable is nice and long; the high-visibility orange coloring (although you can get black if you want) really does help prevent accidents in the studio; and the cable itself is very robust while keeping your data rate high. Theoretically speaking a USB cable is a USB cable, but when you are working in a professional environment, you want something robust, reliable, and a product that gives you as many "quality-of-life" improvements as you can because it's really the little things that add up in aggregate. If you're looking to shoot tethered, buy Tether Tools and don't look back. They also happen to make a whole bunch of other accessories to make life even easier. I was skeptical at first, but after using their products for a few months, I've really come around to believe that they are currently providing the best solutions for this particular niche.

Fantastic Product
I had been having all kinds of issues with tethering using my Fuji XT-4 and Capture One (don't even get me started with tethering using Lightroom). I replaced the various cables I had been using with the TetherPro and everything suddenly just...worked! Like, flawlessly worked. These cables are super well built, really rugged, and really get the job done. They're a little pricey but definitely worth it.

Fast speeds with this cable
The biggest selling point for a Tether Tools cable is that it's specs support full USB 3.1 Gen 1 speeds of 1.5Gb/s. Important if you have large file sizes that need to be transferred from camera to computer. You can find other USB-C to USB-C cables for less, and depending on your needs they might be a better value. You do pay more for Tether Tools cables, but they are sturdy and reliable. This is my third Tether Tools cable not because of any issues with the cable themselves, but camera manufactures like to change the ports on with every new camera body they release. I'm using this cable for my Canon EOS R5 tethered to my MacBook Pro. Happy with the performance.

Sturdy high quality cable
I use this to tether my ipad (being used as a teleprompter from mac as mirrored display while providing power) and also tether my Canon RP camera to my mac for video filming. Great cables. Beware of cheaper long USBC cables as some of them are not reliable. For tethering your Canon camera, I do recommend using some sort of "camera cable clamp" to keep these cables from putting pressure on camera usbc port connection as they are impressively thick and sturdy. Definitely recommend and worth the money.

Cable is superb.
But it should be for the price. Hooking up $1500 camera to an animation rig, I guess I can complain, although I will (it's what I do). A bit stiff, as am I, but works flawlessly and sends a lot of data fast.

Working well so far
After reading some of the other reviews I was a little concerned about this cable, but I couldn't find any real alternative. It is a substantial cable - far thicker than any other USB cable I've ever used. It is fairly flexible, though. I can't speak to long-term durability, but my use will be light duty. I haven't used this on a project yet, but I have one coming up soon. While testing, it was able to transfer raw images from an EOS R to my computer very quickly. Far more quickly than my previous camera that only supported USB 2.0. The camera also indicated that it was charging while connected. The cable recommends not doing so, but I'm not sure there is a way to stop it. I would definitely recommend using some kind of strain relieve that attaches to the camera. The USB-C connector is pretty small, and the cable would have a lot of leverage. The JerkStopper would work fine, but one of the reviews there mentioned using some general purpose quick release straps, which is what I'm using. That will make it easier to swap out things like a strap or safety tether.

Worked flawlessly for live teathered shooting with Sony a7iii and MacBook pro.
I was doing a photoshoot for work and needed to shoot live/teathered for instant review on a large monitor for the team to see as I shot. I was using a Sony a7iii and a current MacBook pro. I tried a few different programs for the live view but found Sonys software to be the smoothest workflow for our needs. This cable worked perfectly, fast transfers and zero hiccups. I couldn't be happier. Sometimes it's worth the extra dollars to ensure everything just works. In this case that's the truth.

Rock-Solid Connection for Tethered Shooting
If you do a lot of tethered photography or video work, this cable is a lifesaver. I’ve been using the TetherPro USB-C to USB-C (15 ft / 4.6 m) for a few weeks now, and it delivers exactly what it promises. Performance: The data transfer is fast and stable—no dropouts, no random disconnects, even during long sessions. It also handles power delivery well, so my camera stays charged while shooting. Length: The 15-foot length is perfect for studio setups, giving me plenty of freedom to move without tugging on the connection. Build Quality: This isn’t a flimsy cable—it’s thick, well-insulated, and feels durable enough to handle daily professional use. The connectors fit snugly with no wobble. High Visibility: The bright orange color might not be for everyone, but in a busy studio, it’s a blessing—you can see exactly where the cable is and avoid tripping hazards. Bottom Line: If you rely on tethered shooting, invest in this. It’s not the cheapest cable out there, but the reliability and build quality make it worth every penny.
