Really good and silent product!

In hardly do reviews, only bother when an item exceeds my expectations. Well, Meaco Arete 10 dehumidifier and air purifier did just that. Not only does it dehumidify brilliantly, it also purifies the air at the same time. The smart functionality helps to save electricity by switching device off and on when desired humidity level is attained or exceeded. Sound is relatively low compared to other dehumidifiers. However, don't expect it to be entirely unnoticeable, depending on its location around the house. You certainly can't sleep with it running, of you're a light sleeper. A strong point is its ability to dry clothes very quickly. It has a laundry function which is handy. Although I use the regular setting. A full laundry load gets dry in under 24hrs, absolutely splendid. It shuts off automatically when the bucket is full. I also noticed the Arete makes the room warmer by up to 4 degrees, depending on the external temperature. I bought this when the weather was still a bit warmer and noticed a considerable increase in room ambient temperature running the Arete. Now that outdoor temperature is around a max of 8 to 10 degrees, I think it raises ambient temperature by up to 2 degrees. My observation. One thing is certain, the removal of excess moisture from the atmosphere means you can heat your home up to temperature a lot quicker than otherwise, thereby saving on energy bills. Overall, I'd happily recommend the Meaco Arete or any good condenser humidifier. We have two at home, the second being the Argos Challenger. The Challenger being the first I bought. Had I known about the Arete beforehand, wouldn't have bought the Challenger. Nonetheless, it works well to, albeit without the smart functions. The Challenger runs until it's turned off or gets full. Also uses a bit more electricity compared to the Meaco Arete 10L. A good buy. If you're thinking about a dehumidifier, please go ahead and buy one. They're not cheap but a good one like the Arete is well worth every penny!

We bought this when our black+decker dehumidifier broke and we've used it all year round for 2/3 years. It is one of the best purchases we have ever made. It is really easy to set up comes with wheels to put on however if you have carpets you can leave them off. There is a handle which helps with manoeuvrability if you can't roll on hard floors. There is an air filter on the back which you dont notice when your in the room but notice when you clean it with your hoover. It is quite large in size and large in capacity at 10L and isn't the best looking so will need a dedicated storage space however as stated can be rolled or picked up. There are multiple functions, clothes drying which runs until clothes would be dry. This is the function we use the most and can dry a load of washing in up to 6 hours quicker if the heating is on. As this works better when it is hot. Another function is humudity where you can set the humidity you would like it to be and it will get to that number. Finally there is night mode where it sporadically comes on throughout the night - it is so quite compared to our old dehumidifier you will barely notice it. To get rid of the water there a large pull out tray that you take out the machine and you can pour it down the sink, toilet, bath, shower, plants you name it. I have not used this feature but you can connect with a hose and feed the humid water elsewhere (not entirely sure how this works). They also offer a fantastic warranty period on the product. Overall great product and great craftsmanship, if I needed another I would buy it in a heartbeat.
