Look Inside Mummies & Pyramids: 1

My 6 year old got this book for Christmas, and he looks at it in detail almost every day. He loves the flaps still (who doesn't?!?) and the text is simple enough that he can read it on his own. My 2 year old just loves the pictures and the flaps. It helps to familiarize them with ancient Egypt in a fun way, and it makes the "stuff" at the museum recognizable and meaningful. They're both quite keen for a trip to Egypt now!

My 5 years old love the book and all about the pyramid. He love open up and look inside each pictures.

Our 6-year old has a fascination with Egypt and ancient history in general as a result of museum visits and the themes of several of his video games. So he asked a few books on the topic for his birthday. This book is a bit smaller than expected. And smaller than the many other Usborne books in the Look Inside series we have. Also its more for the younger readers. Yet there is some good information but its more straightforward than in the other books. The positive is that he can actually read it by himself. This hard-cover book its of high quality and a nice read. And my children just love to turn the flaps. The only slight warning I would give its that after very frequent reading/flap lifting by little children’s hand, the flaps tend to get creased or will tear.

Loads of information and flaps/things to look at. As expected, focuses on death rituals/mummification etc rather than other parts of Egyptian life. Some complex words, a bit difficult for a 6yr old to understand at points but overall excellent, concise and clear.

Fab book, my daughter was doing the Egyptians at school so I brought her this book. She loves it, learnt a lot from it but as it’s a flap book she enjoyed exploring it and seeing what was under all the flaps

Great book! A lot of flaps to open, you think you got all of them but reading with my son several times and kept finding more. Fun, educational and interactive book. Highly recommended.

My grandchildren loved it! They like to have the book read to them over and over. It is very creatively written and the flaps keep the child's interest in discovering new facts.

Comme d'habitude chez Usborne, un bijou. Livre très complet mais parfois un peu trash. J'aurais aimé un peu plus de détails sur près techniques et l'architecture, mais ça reste un excellente introduction à l'egyptologie pour un enfant.

Wonderful to view! children can view this book on their own and by the pictures understand what is happenning.

Sparks interest in a ten-year old as well as in a five-year old! Good job
