Vocabulary Extension
There are no pictures in the book so I use other materials to introduce and teach new vocabulary. After my ESL students are somewhat familiar with vocabulary terms, I can find practice and extension activities that correspond to our lessons. Often the exercises extend what my students are learning. For example, after spending a few days learning words that describe feelings or conditions of a person, my students realized some of the words on flash cards were opposites. Then they were able to complete a vocabulary exercise in the text learning the term “antonyms”. They already knew most of the words in the exercise and that left only a few unfamiliar words to teach before completing the exercise. A following activity directed them to create sentences using “and” or “but” and two or more of the vocabulary words. So this text is useful to extend previous learning.

I not recommend
I found the content very superficial. If you do not have any knowledge of English this book will not help you.

User Friendly - not!
This is supposed to be for BEGINNER English speakers. The instructions for exercises are far, far beyond a brand-new ESL learner with virtually no English. The refugees I volunteer with will definitely not be able to work on this without me explaining every single exercise in far more basic English. I'm bitterly disappointed.
