This fuel cap replacement works like a charm! It fits my Chevy HHR perfectly, seals tightly, and feels just as good as the original. Just twist it on, and youโre good to go. No more annoying warnings on the dash! If youโre looking for an affordable and reliable replacement, this is a no-brainer. 5 stars all the way!

Fits my car, functions correctly, does not work with my tether. I am fine with it.
Bought this for my 07 Saturn ion to get rid of the check engine light. I checked or replaced all the other evap system components and narrowed it down to the gas cap. I installed this cap and disconnected the battery for a couple hours. when I reconnected the battery and started the car the engine light was gone. After 3/4 of a tank the light came back on, I was dejected but figured I would try it again. Disconnected the battery for a couple hours again and reconnected. the check engine light was gone. I have 3 or 4 full tanks of gas through now and still no check engine light. So if your check engine light has been on for a while it may take a couple resets to get rid of it after a new cap. Also, the OEM tether will not attach to this cap, but the check engine light is gone.

Good gas cap
Good gas cap... fit on well. bought it because engine light was on and recommended to replace with original made gas cap. It worked for about one week. But it was not gas cap issue. car had more. I rated a mileage low as I did not drive with the cap long.

Fits my 2013 Chevy Impala
My car kept saying "tighten gas cap" so I bought this replacement for my 2013 chevy impala and it fits well and solved the problem. Only clicks once but works well. I wish it had the notch to attach the little plastic thing that keeps it from falling to the ground after opening it.

Don't damage the tether, attach it to the new STANT 10841 gas cap...
Stant 10841 gas cap: I bought to replace OEM gas cap on my 2005 Chevy Aveo Hatchback which had a conveniently attached tether. The original gas cap became loose, sloppy-fitting and no longer provided a secure seal. This Stant cap replacement fixed the problem providing a very solid secure solution with the single downside of not coming with any convenient tetherโฆan inconvenience issue. I read many of the reviews addressing this issue before my purchase but chose to buy it anyway. So I was โforewarned is forearmedโ preparedโฆand I easily could have been content. Howeverโฆ I studied the original tethered gas cap and found it was designed to work by having a sliding โring/collarโ that easily slid around to accommodate the required movement when tightening and loosening the cap for refueling. If you knew this prior to getting rid of it and installing the new STANT cap you might get a reward for your attention to detail. I pried that sliding collar-ring off the originalโฆthen studied the new STANT gas cap. The original had a 7 mm. wide, indented/recessed portion [pathway] along the outside perimeter of the cap which was designed to retain yet allow the ring-collar to slide easily. The collar was made of semi-rigid material but with perseverance it could be removed without damage. [Maybe some silicone spray might make it even easier to remove.] The new STANT designed cap came with 16 thin โribsโ for better gripping along the outside perimeter. The original tethered collar wouldnโt slide onto the new capโฆat least not yet. The ribs measured about 11mmโฆtop to bottomโฆand the collar was only about 7mm wide so you see the possibilitiesโฆ Are you a craftsy person? Using a Dremmel grinding/cutting tool at lowest possible speed [and wearing eye protection] I removed the lower 7 mm of each rib and left the top remaining 4 mm intact. [OK, so I did smooth 2 of the ribs all the way so I easily fed the collar onto the new STANT cap.] Doing this I created the recessed pathway for the OEM tethered collar to be mounted onto the STANT 10841. Now, good as or better than new as received. It worked absolutely great for my Aveo.

Can't beat the price
My Chevy Aveo's check engine light keeps turning on and off (not blinking, but turning on, then turning off later, then turning back on). I went to an auto parts store near me because they do free diagnostic. The machine said my crankshaft plug was faulty. I went around and asked how much to replace. Cheapest place was $120, IF I bought the part myself. After finding the part and buying it here ($25), I began to read some more of the reviews just in case. I found one that happened to say that sometimes, on older cars, it's actually the gas cap that's causing the light to go on and the faulty plug error. After checking my gas cap, I saw how warped and old it was (car is a 2007). So I bought this gas cap to see if that was the problem. It was easy to install, fit perfectly, and my check engine light is finally off!!! Thanks!

Nice but difficult to get off
Works well but with someone like me who has arthritas in my hands it is difficult to get off when locked on. I try just twist on and hear 1 click then seems easy to get off you twist anymore than that then it is hard to get off.

No more check engine light!
My 2005 Saturn Vue has had the check engine light on for a year and a half. Code reader said probably a gas cap problem. I bought three others which would work for maybe a few days at most then light came back on. So I read on a Saturnforum to buy a STANT so I did and it works great! It fits much tighter and doesn't jiggle around when screwed on. It's been over a month now with no engine light. Saved me a bunch of money.

Great product that fixed engine light issue (check engine light going on when accelerating to highway speeds using OEM cap 2006 chev). This cap does not come with a strap, but I was able to push the old cap's strap onto the new cap in a fixed position (strap does not rotate).

Fits a 2009 Saturn Astra just fine Does not have the tether ring like the original but the cap clicks in place like the original use to and had since stopped providing the right seal This unit seems to do the job. Works for me.

Wow. Build quality is amazing. I would buy this over a ACDELCO any day, I have owned motorad twice and both times it broke within a week. Will be gifting my original to my brother as a replacement for his lost cap. Funny how the world works. I order a new one and he lost his at the gas station.
