12X42 Binoculars for Adults with Universal Phone Adapter, HD Waterproof Fogproof Compact Binoculars for Bird Watching, Hunting, Hiking, Sports, and Concerts with BAK4 Prism FMC Lens

Before I bought these, I was actually just looking for a nicer strap for a heavy-ish pair of Bushnells that I use for watching football games. I priced a good neoprene strap at about $15, which isn’t bad, but before I ordered it I thought I’d see how much I’d have to pay for a new pair of binoculars that come WITH a nice strap. These popped up with the padded strap and the reviews were consistently good. For 30-ish bucks I gave them a try. I’ve had them for a year now and I am floored by the quality and image! As I said, I have a pair of Bushnell (10x ) porro prism binocs which are decent quality, good for football games, but a bit heavy so the strap is hard on the neck after a long game. I also have a nice pair of compact Nikon 8x Travellers, which are much lighter, but at stadium distances 8x is not quite enough magnification in my opinion. These binocs are listed as 12x, but the image size looks the same as my old 10x pair, so I think 10x would be a more accurate magnification rating. I’ve brought them to three NFL games already and the image is sharp, bright and clear, with some very slight chromatic aberration - barely noticeable, really. They are lightweight but very solidly built, so they’re heavy enough to stabilize easily, especially when sitting down. Focusing and pupillary distance adjust easily and smoothly and don’t drift. The diopter adjustment has click stops - a nice feature that keeps that from drifting too. Exit pupils are large enough for my old (ish) eyes, so it’s easy to get a solid, single image. So, solid build, good optics, not much money. What’s not to like? Additionally, the owner’s manual says they are lifetime warranted, nitrogen filled and o-ring sealed, so they are supposed to be water-resistant and fogproof. I can attest to fogproof, have my doubts about water-resistant, but so what? Are they as good as my daughter’s Athlon’s? Not quite, but pretty close and less than half the price.

You usually get what you pay for, but in this case, I'd say I got more than I expected. The optics on these are crystal clear and easy to focus. The right eyepiece has a diopter adjustment which let me focus both eyes perfectly. At 42 mm, the field of view and light sensitivity are good for a 12x optic. And haven't used a wide variety of these kinds of optics, but I would say that when compared to my father's old 10x50 Bushnell binocs, the 12x claim seems accurate. These binoculars feel solid, and the focus adjustment works smoothly, but doesn't turn so easily that you're likely to inadvertently nudge it out of focus. These came with a heavy nylon carrying case with a strap and a strap to attach to the binoculars for safety's sake. There are lens caps on both ends of the optics, and they stay attached so you're unlikely to lose them. Also, they hang out of the way of your vision when you're looking through. You can still remove them from the binoculars entirely though, if you want. I tried out the smartphone bracket, and I was also surprised how well that worked. You have to hold both your phone and your binoculars at the same time because it won't support the weight. I have an iPhone 15 and I was able to line up each of the camera lenses with reasonably little trouble. My only gripe is that there's not enough room in the nylon carry case for both the binoculars and the smartphone bracket to fit comfortably.

A little bigger than I expected. Binoculars are great, but phone adapter was hard to attach and doesn't work well.

Bought for our grandson after he liked ours (the same). Keep them around or in the car, good to look at the animals on their property in Australia.

I like that these Binoculars are light and don't fogup as I use them in my work as a racing steward.

Phone adapter got tossed cuz useless to me but the binoculars themselves are decent.
