Just buy it!
Replaced a bose smart soundbar 300 with this smart ultra. The sound out the 300 was great, especially when paired with bose bass module 500 so was sceptical on how it could be better. Been looking at up grading for a while now so when price dropped below £600 and a monthly payment plan i took the plunge and didnt regret it. The set up is simple( even for a techno phobe like me) and app is straight forward. Now for the important bit. The sound. All i can say is WOW! It imurses you in it, feels like sound coming from all around. Its crystal clear with a bone shacking bass, a sound you can feel not just hear. The 2 small up facing speakers make a hugh differance as sound seems to come from above. There is no distortion, even when volume is crancked right up. Even my wife who thinks im bonkers with no aprecation for quality audio said how amazing it is. The design is sleek and stylish, especally the glass top, alot wider than previouse 300 soundbar but fits perfect under my 55" oled tv. So anybody out there unsure weather to upgrade to this unit just do it. I promise you wont be dissapointed. Hoping santa is going to bring me the Bose rear surround speakers to finish this outstanding set up off. The set up is top end so not cheap but having done hi fi set ups back in the day not much difference and worth every penny.

Bose smart ultra
This is an outstanding Bose soundbar’ the app is solid without any issues and works like clockwork. You can use the App the adjust the sound settings to suit your personal sound preferences . The soundbar is a solid well designed device which looks elegant sitting on my tv stand. There is plenty of power in it if required’ it took me about 15minutes to set it up without any problems at all. The sound is crisp and clear especially with AI speach mode. I haven’t decided yet on adding surround speakers yet but it is a massive improvement on my Bose solo 2 tv speaker. The price is a real deal breaker. This is a top of the range soundbar from Bose. ADDED THE BOSE 700 surround speakers and the BOSE 500 SUBWOOFER AND WOW ITS INCREDIBLE’ so immersive’ just like being in the movie itself . ONE VERY IMPORTANT SET UP TIP’ use the included headset to do a room acoustic set up’ it’s called ADAPTIQ. Just follow the instructions from the Bose app

Works quite well with my 48 inch TV
Solidly made with plate glass top, simple HDMI connection and set up via Bose app and headset microphone. One linked the volume is controlled by our Bluetooth TV remote. My TV gives great images but lacks good spacious sound imaging and I don't always want to power up the AV receiver to watch a programme. The Bose adds a reasonable amount of width and height to the sound stage and the speech enhancement is quite good especially at lower volumes. We recently watched a film with lots of whispering and heard it clearly, then watched the same at a friend's using an AV receiver and had difficulty hearing the dialogue. Initially we thought it was an acceptable improvement on our TV speakers but didn't match up to the praise given by reviews - then we streamed a film on Prime with Dolby Atmos sound track and suddenly the Bose came alive giving richer sounds, deeper bass and wider soundstage. I may be tempted to invest in the subwoofer eventually as simple, pleasing everyday sound source, links easily to internet radio and other sound sources. It sits under the very low bezel of our TV 2.3 inches and is a fraction narrower, listened to other recommended units at lower prices that impress at higher volumes but lacked the clarity of the Bose at moderate volumes often used for late night listening. Seemed slightly overpriced at first but it impresses the more we do with it, so overall a happy choice.

Finally, a soundbar that actually fixes mumbly dialogue!
The Bose Smart Ultra is a powerhouse. The standout feature for me is the A.I. Dialogue Mode. It’s the first time I’ve used a "speech boost" that doesn't make the rest of the audio sound thin or tinny. It intelligently balances voices against loud background effects, which has been a lifesaver for watching movies and playing immersive games without needing to constantly toggle subtitles. The spatial audio is also impressive for a single bar. It creates a very wide soundstage with a genuine sense of height for Dolby Atmos content. Setup was incredibly fast using the app, and the ADAPTiQ calibration made a noticeable difference in tuning the sound to my room. I wasn’t aware that connecting my Bose ultra headphones to the soundbar would give me superior audio over connecting the headphones to the tv via Bluetooth, like noticeably different. After a few weeks, I felt compelled to add the wireless rear surround speakers, and I’m so glad I did. While the bar does a great job with spatial effects, having the physical rears completely transformed the experience. It moved from a "wide soundstage" to a true 360-degree "bubble" of sound. Now, ambient noises like rain or distant footsteps feel like they are actually happening behind me. If you value total immersion, the bar is the perfect foundation, but the rear speakers are what truly finish the job. Highly recommended for anyone who wants crystal-clear dialogue and a cinema-grade feel.

The sound quality is amazing, BUT...
There are a few things you should know if you are planing to buy one of these. I have the setup in a mid-size modern flat, not a massive room with a normal ceiling height. Pros: - Sound clarity is excellent. I can hear every detail, crisp and punchy with no distortion. - Immersive, amazing 5.1 sound. - Music quality is also amazing. - Soundbar on its powerful with a good amount of base. It would be enough for most people. Cons: - To get the best sound out of it, you need to do the ADAPTiQ towel Hack (search for it online) - The price is very high if you have the full setup with the base and surround speakers. Wait for a Black Friday or sales, then it will be a good purchase. - I have tried many movies and I can't hear Atmos channels, even with the ceiling channels set to maximum. - You should definitely get the surround speakers and the base unit. With them, the difference is huge. Like day and night - This is probably the biggest issue for me. From time to time, soundbar freezes, doesn't wake up. Even when I press the on button on the bar itself. This is the second unit (replacement) and it has the same issue. Unplugging from the mains and plugging it back resolves it. It may be a software issue, but at this price point it is not acceptable. BOSE if you read this you must address this issue.

WOW
I combined this soundbar with a Govee backlight ,a 65” tv and a PS5. The effect is superb. 3D sound is mesmerising and so good that even my wife has commented on it. The sound quality is excellent with deep base if required. Purchased in pre Xmas sale for £750 and worth every penny. 10/10

You get what you expect from a Bose product.
This Bose product replaced the older 500 bar, sub and surround speaker setup I have had for about 5 years. I went originally for another brand that boasted Dolby Atmos sound but it just didn't deliver and I returned to Bose. This is now the only speaker I'm using as I've not felt the need to add a sub or surround speakers yet. I may do later on but so far, so very, very good. Easy to set up, even with the weird looking Adaptiq process. Just don't do it when you have visitors. :). Connectivity is easy and it is all just very simple to set up and get the best out of.

Great Hardware with Awful Software
I have been a Bose fan for 20+ years. I've bought everything from headphones, to portable speakers to their sound bars. So please understand it is hard for me to give a low review as I still rate almost every other Bose item I still own. I have owned the Bose 300 sound bar for a while with the bass unit and surround speakers. I love it and and decided to upgrade to the Ultimate as I wanted Atmos. Sadly this has been a frustrating and disappointing experience due to hardware crashes, issues with sound not playing as well as having to resetting it almost every day. There has just been a lack of stability and believe me I truly truly truly tried to make it work..... I really did but after 2 weeks and a multitude of issues I returned it and went back to my Bose 300, which is more reliable. Here are the pros and cons that should explain why it was returned: Pros: + Sound is amazing, the few times I got it working it was a delight, this is great hardware let down by awful software and mobile app (see below) Cons: - Software is unstable, requiring me to unplug it every time turn it on - Software is unstable, requiring me to reset the whole setup in the app to get sound out of all speakers - Software is unstable, showing a red light all the time no matter what I did a week into ownership and not even a factory reset could get rid of it even when it was working perfectly (Which was rarely). - The app is poor, no ability to update the hardware's software (You have to use secret combinations of buttons on the controller and god knows what's happening when you do, the app won't tell you much) - The app is poor, no alternate sound settings for the equaliser, no sound bar reset, no feedback on issues, its bare bones at best and close to useless unless you want to change the volume) - Adapt audio setup results in weak hard to hear surround sound, not an issue on the previous Bose 300 soundbar. All of this just frustrated me after a lot of days trying and retrying to get my unit set up. Remember I love Bose but for this kind of money they must do a better job with their software especially as their engineers are doing such a good job with the hardware. I suspect they did very little QA on the software and even less focused user testing.

Crystal clear sound
Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar: A Mixed Bag The Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar promises immersive Dolby Atmos sound and voice control for a premium home theater experience. While it delivers on the audio front, the voice control functionality, particularly Alexa, has been a major letdown for users in certain regions. Sound Performance: * Immersive Audio: The soundbar excels in delivering a wide soundstage and height channels, creating a truly enveloping listening experience. * Clear Dialogue: The A.I. Dialogue Mode effectively enhances vocal clarity, ensuring you never miss a word. * Powerful Bass: Although the soundbar lacks a dedicated subwoofer, it still manages to deliver solid bass performance. Voice Control Issues: * Alexa Inaccessibility: The primary concern for many users is the lack of available voice assistants in specific regions. This significantly limits the soundbar's smart features. Overall: The Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar is a fantastic choice for those seeking high-quality audio performance. However, the current limitations with voice control, particularly Alexa, significantly impact the overall user experience. If voice control is a priority for you, it's advisable to explore other options or wait for potential firmware updates to address the issue. Note: It's recommended to check the latest updates and regional availability of voice assistants before purchasing.

RENEWED / REFURBISHED - BEWARE - USELESS WITHOUT ORIGINAL REMOTE
Do not buy this item as renewed or refurbished despite the description saying that its 'like new'. I received the bar without the remote, while it functioned as a 'dumb' soundbar I could not access it via the app or wifi. It had a old configuration on it and it can only be factory reset via the original remote. Something I discovered after purchasing a replacement 3rd party. Bose support is hopeless, and couldnt even get me a price on a replacement original remote. Very disappointed by Amazon for selling it without the remote and not stating this and not factory resetting it before sending it. Also with Bose for 1) making it only factory reset capable via original remote and 2) having such horrible support

Great product if all are complete
The reason for 2 stars is Chromecast and Alexa not supported and it seems that only here in the UAE and this is ready bad. 👎 other than that is has a great sound.
