Echo Show 8 (3rd Gen) Adjustable Stand with USB-C Charging Port | Charcoal

I am extremely happy with this echo show eight. I’m usually one to use a different kind of tablet, and I read on a Kindle,, but this I felt would work seamlessly with all my ring devices. It does! I also wanted some thing a little more than just a smart home hub. This fits the bill. It connects really well and the sound quality and color graphics are excellent. I have about five cameras and a ring doorbell that I can see all the same time. It’s an added bonus that you have the option to use the privacy feature on the camera that’s on this echo eight. I could turn it on if I’m out of town and want to keep an eye on my kitchen, or keep it closed for a reassurance of privacy. I keep the device in my kitchen so I can use it to pull up recipes or listen to audiobooks and music. The speaker has fantastic sound. I got this during the prime day so it was a very good value for the money, especially since I would say it is even when it’s not on sale. I also purchased the stand to go with it. I’m thinking of purchasing a larger one and then using this one in my bedroom because I love it so much. I was pleasantly surprised and I’m very happy with this echo device!

I had an Echo Show 5 previously but returned it after a couple of days due to numerous setup issues and poor performance. After 2 years I opted to give it another try with the Echo Show 8 and glad I did. The device has good sound and video for the price point. I mainly use the device to view photos, play music, and control my home automation equipment. While performance is better than the Echo Show 5 I had previously, it still is a bit slow to respond to commands. Not sure if this is due to hardware constraints or due to being on the new Alexa+ platform. Overall, I’m happy with the device but probably would go for Echo Show 11 next time as this device is in my kitchen.

Super easy to use

This is very nice to have around the house. Handy to set alarms, look up recipes and play games. Great to talk to grandkids too.

The Good: - Good speaker quality for music. Very comparable to a full size echo. Plenty good for kitchen music playing. - The screen is bright and visible. - It can play content from streaming services. - Works with Amazon Alexa smart home (Ring and Blink cameras). - Has excellent range for "Alexa" commands - The wallpapers on the rotating home screens are beautiful. - Alexa is a decent smart home voice assistant. Not amazing, but good. She can show you cameras, play videos, music, etc. She does misunderstand music requests fairly often, to the point that we laugh at her mistakes. The Meh: - At times the device is slow to respond to touches and swipes. Not awful, but noticeable. - The UI is a mixed bag. Some screens are designed great such as the Weather and Video screens. But others are awfully designed. On the smart home screen, the tiles are huge , taking up 1/3rd of the display only to show temperature. The widgets on the home screen are tiny and display no information. No smart home toggles on the home screen. The music screen is OK. - In standby mode the echo rotates through the home screens, your recently played content, and ads. You're forced to wait to see what you want, or to tap and swipe the screen multiple times to get to what you want. I would prefer 1 primary screen on display full time with time/date, calendar, and buttons for videos, music, camera feed, and some larger widgets for favorite smart home controls. Instead you have to swipe down twice, tap 1 screen to go to, then repeat the process to go somewhere else. Not well thought-out. Cons - Ads are on full display in your home, like a tiny billboard placed in your kitchen. They're not too frequent, but it's still annoying to have yet another location Amazon is shoving products down our throats. - The echo show looks very generic. - No live feeds shown from cameras in Smart Home or Cameras views. Why? I pay for a monthly Ring plan. TLDR: Do I recommend the Echo Show 8? If you have a home full of Amazon compatible devices and it's on sale, then yes I do recommend it. The Echo Show 8 does help round-out your smart-home experience. But the frustrating controls and poorly designed UI screens make it a chore to use. In many ways its a simpler + better experience to stick with controlling your smart home and music through your phone.

J’ai acheté ce support pour accompagner mon Echo Show 8 (modèle 2023), et honnêtement, je ne m’attendais pas à une telle qualité pour un simple accessoire. Dès le déballage, on sent que le produit est bien conçu : les matériaux sont solides, la finition blanche mate s’accorde parfaitement avec la couleur de l’Echo Show, et le tout donne un rendu propre et harmonieux sur le plan de travail. L’installation se fait en quelques secondes, il suffit de poser l’écran dessus et de brancher le câble USB-C intégré. Ce dernier s’emboîte parfaitement dans le port de l’appareil sans forcer, et reste bien en place, même lorsqu’on manipule l’écran tactile. Le système de charge intégré est un vrai plus : plus besoin de chercher le bon angle ou de brancher/débrancher le câble d’origine. Tout est stable, aligné, et le câble se fond discrètement à l’arrière du support. Le support est légèrement lesté, ce qui le rend très stable. Je peux appuyer sur l’écran, faire défiler des recettes, ou lancer des commandes sans que tout ne bouge. L’inclinaison est fluide à ajuster, et tient parfaitement une fois positionnée. J’ai fait plusieurs tests en cuisine — où mon Echo Show sert principalement à suivre des recettes ou écouter de la musique — et je dois dire que le confort d’utilisation est vraiment meilleur. L’écran est désormais à hauteur des yeux, ce qui évite de se pencher, et le son semble même un peu plus clair puisque les haut-parleurs respirent mieux. Esthétiquement, c’est un sans-faute : le design minimaliste et moderne s’intègre parfaitement dans une cuisine ou un salon. Aucun bruit de charnière, aucune sensation de jeu ou de fragilité. Même les patins antidérapants sous la base montrent que le fabricant a pensé aux détails : le support ne glisse pas, même sur un plan de travail lisse. Le seul petit bémol que j’ai pu relever, c’est que le support n’est pas rotatif à 360°. Il permet uniquement d’incliner l’écran vers le haut ou le bas, pas de le tourner latéralement. Ce n’est pas gênant pour mon usage, mais c’est bon à savoir si vous avez besoin de l’orienter souvent. En résumé, c’est un excellent accessoire, aussi utile que bien fini. Il améliore clairement le confort d’utilisation de l’Echo Show 8, tout en gardant un rendu esthétique irréprochable. Je ne pensais pas qu’un simple support pouvait faire une telle différence, mais après quelques jours d’usage, je ne pourrais plus m’en passer. Je recommande sans hésiter, un produit de très belle qualité et indispensable pour tirer le meilleur parti de son Echo Show.
