I understand that the power surge margin is 3 times the wattage rating of these products.Also Heating appliances, during computer booting & laser printer spike when I turn them On.That Voltage total my machines are below 950watts incidently ,But Too much heat from this item makes my computer, printer shutdown occationally!I know For these products I need to buy a Voltage Converter Transformer that is at least 3 to 4 times the rated wattage.It looks like below 5000watts(=indicated specification) converter.What I want to do is change to Exact spec item.

This device converts US 120 volts AC 60 Hz (or US 240 volts AC 60 Hz) into European 240 volts AC 50 Hz, which allows me to use some European woodworking tools in my shop. This conversion can not be done with a US NEMA 240 volt connector to a European 240 volt connector adapter cord as the US 240 volts is made by 120 volts on each of the two input connections, 180 degrees out of phase with each other, where as the European 240 volts is 240 volts on one input connection relative to zero volts on the other input connection. The 60 Hz to 50 Hz conversion allows the European tools to run at their specified speed. This converter works great without risk of damaging the tools.

Wow. I absolutely love this converter. It's a dam miracle to go from 110 to 220 volts and your bill does not go up. My AC unit is a 18,500 BTU unit and its blowing like mad. Best investment I've had in 10 or more years. Make sure you get enough watts to handle you unit or whatever it is that you are go to use it on. My unit runs on 1700 watts. So I bought a 5000 watt converter. 3 times higher so you will not run into problem. It's been running 24 hours a day all summer. On cool nights when it rains, I will turn the AC off. But I just leave the converter on. No problems. Oh.... I have a fan blowing on the converter because it will heat up. My fan keeps the converter cool.

I purchased two of these from another company 10/16/2016 and one died on 6/24/2018, so it lasted less than 2 years. The unit was temperamental right from the start. After a month I noticed that I'd get 220V for a few hours and then at some point it would start supplying only 110V.Switching it off and then back on would reset it 8 out of 10 times and I'd get 220V again. I had some concerns about this causing issues for the devices plugged into it.The reason I did not send it back was this clause included (Not by an Amazon seller): " Products which are improperly packaged and do not include manufacturers box will be refused. The merchandise must come back packed in the outer brown box it was shipped with the shipping label on it". I had a faulty unit but his only became apparent a month later and the crappy boxes were thrown away by then.I also bought one of these from Amazon on 12/6/2017 without automatic voltage selection. It arrived with a blown fuse, so it was DoA (Dead on Arrival). Considering the issues I had with my existing unit, and the fact that Amazon is a much safer bet when it comes to returning items, I returned it. This made it clear that Simran does not do great (or any?) quality control.I continued with the original unit until it died. I opened it up to see if it could be saved and found the following:The automatic voltage selection board seems to be the culprit. The board has some component specifications on it which were not followed.Marking on board -> ComponentCap : 1000uF 50V -> 1000uF 35VResistor : 5W 10 Ohm -> 1W 10 OhmThese burned out and caused additional damage to other components.Additional components damaged was a C1008 transistor, an N4007 diode and the relay on the automatic voltage selection boardSimran used lower spec parts causing early failure. The rest of the unit seems well built and should really give you lifelong service, had it not been for the compromises made on this one board. My other unit has not given me a moment's issues, so the item you receive might be hit or miss.My advice: This product is good value for money, BUT get this from Amazon if you need it, and not from a company with questionable return policies. You may never look back or you may have to return it if you notice strange behavior.

THIS IS THE NEW SIMRAN TRANSFORMER. INDIA USED TO OWN THIS COMPANY BUT NOW IT IS A US COMPANY. I AM IMPRESSED BY ITS PERFORMANCE IT OPERATES MY WELL OFFGRID. THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE LUBRICANTS FOR DRILLING AND ASSEMBLY. IT GAVE OFF A VERY STRONG ODOR. THEY NEED TO SWITCH TO A MORE PREMIUM ASSEBLY OIL....I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS.

All European tools are working finally but too heavy to carry around.Works great and worth of what I paid.

I bought the Simran AC-5000 to use with a European Thermomix that is rated 1,500W + 500W, so 2,000W max when it both heats and rotates the blade at full speed. It should rarely drain so much power though and a 5,000W converter seems to have a plenty of margin for operating it.However it burned a few fuses and ended up not working at all because the cable that links the fuse just broke apart (see the pictures). This is very disappointing for a device that cost that price and I don't recommended buying it. How does this cable just melts or breaks as there is a fuse?
