Loved it, sold it anyways and then bought it again
I bought this mostly for macros on land and for an occasional water excursion. I loved it but moved up to larger macro gear so I sold it to a friend. I missed it as its so portable and allows me to take macros without my larger gear or if I am traveling light so I bought it again. Its an amazing little camera with multiple settings options, is waterproof and is super rugged for any wildlife/outdoor adventure. With a little tweaking of settings, you can get some amazingly close photos of little things and its alot of fun to play with. The battery life is good but once the battery dies, there is no warning, it just dies so keep a spare on you at all times. I added some photos of land macros I took using this camera combined with the FD-1 flash. If you want to get into macro but don't want to spend a fortune, this is a great choice and I love all the OM Systems products as they are quality and a good value for the money

Solid waterproof point & shoot camera
This is like a classic point-and-shoot digital camera, the kind that were popular in 20 years ago. They made it ruggedly waterproof and updated it a bit with more modern technology, so it can shoot high quality video, it can do burst mode at a very high speed to capture rapid action, but the sensor size is the same size as a cell phone camera, so don't expect it to deliver much better low-light performance than a good phone camera. This does outperform my phone in terms of being waterproof, with double-locking hatches for where you'd connect cables or insert batteries or memory cards. It also has a much bigger, more powerful flash than a phone, and a true optical zoom lens instead of a system of multiple cameras on the back. If you take this on vacation because you want to use it while snorkeling, you might well use it for a variety of other travel photos as well. Compared to using a GoPro or other action camera to take pictures when you're in and around water, then this has some big advantages: Instead of an extremely wide-angle fixed-focus lens as you'd find on an action camera, this has an optical zoom lens that takes pictures in an ordinary range of focal lengths, from somewhat wide angle into a moderate telephoto range. Combined with the option to shoot raw images (so you can adjust them more after shooting, using a program like Lightroom) and optional manual controls, you can get nice still images out of this that look different from what you could get with an action camera. Of course, this is bigger than an action camera, although it's still pocketable and highly portable if you tie it to something. This does have a lot of buttons, options, and controls, so it's a good idea to look through at what the controls do before you're out snorkeling with it, because there are a lot of buttons to futz with in adjusting it. Compared to a camera with a bigger sensor or interchangeable lenses, the only big advantages are size, weight, water resistance, and possibly its speed in burst mode. But the water resistance alone makes this more useful on some vacations than higher priced travel cameras like famous the Sony rx100 line, even if this lacks the larger sensor of an rx100.

Perfect for outside adventures!
It’s a great, durable, no-nonsense point and shoot camera. Not much thinking, just press the button and take the photo. At only 12MP it’s still powerful & processes photos beautifully. Low light is hit or miss ass the sensor is small, but it’s waterproof, shockproof, iceproof & basically life-proof lol. Landscapes and brightly lit backdrops are this cameras strong suit. Has filters & different settings for different backdrops & scenery, but also has a raw shooting mode, perfect for editing. It’s compact & good for road trips & everyday occasions. If you’re a serious photographer looking for a serious camera, I don’t think you’ll benefit from this lol but it’s great for memories on the fly where you don’t have to think; just pull out & shoot.

Perfect for rugged travel
Got this for a trip to Central America so we would have something durable and water resistant. I've had past Olympus tough cameras and was happy with them - this model continues that trend. The camera is highly durable surviving bangs and bumps on rocks, trees, floors, etc. It did well in water (swimming with sharks, boating, on the beach, river rafting, etc) and on land. Battery life was fine (I supplemented it with some additional third party batteries just to ensure I had enough power). Picture quality is good to excellent depending on your expectations and the conditions around you. The video function works really well and we got some great videos with the camera as well. Overall a fun camera with great functionality and great photo and video abilities.

A review for use in diving and snorkeling
This camera has a number of important features but perhaps its most distinguishing one is that it is capable of underwater photography. However, for those who purchase it for that purpose, it is important to know that it is also a full featured camera with most of the controls and adjustments of a typical DSLR or mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. Be aware this is not a one button, unadjustable point and shoot camera. Some level of basic photographic "know how" is advantageous. Because of its small size, some users may also find some of the controls difficult to access and/or hard to see in low light or in limited visibility underwater and through a facemask. That said if adjusted properly and used expertly it is capable of taking excellent underwater pictures and videos.

Was great but quickly has issues for me
Only had this about 2 months and had very high hopes for it. I will say that the macro and microscope feature is (was I should say) awesome and takes amazing up close shots. My issue with it is that is developed this purple glow directly in the center of the image and also causes it to become blurry. I am very familiar with cameras and the lens is clean, proper lighting with photos. The blurry purple spot also takes up about half the image with the use of microscope mode and a quarter with photo stacking mode. This camera has never been dropped or wet and has been treated like a high end camera. I was hoping to replace my big camera in the field with this for fungi taxonomy projects but looks like this will not be the case. Have to now send this back in for them to repair or replace. I bought this as a friend has one and has had no issues so I believe it might be a great camera but maybe just my bad luck of getting one with issues.

They finally got it right...
The OM SYSTEM Tough TG-7 Black has finally got it right. I've owned all previous models of the Olympus TG 1-6 Tough cameras and this version finally fix my main concern. Previous models always had a clicking sound when filming n video and muffled out when zooming. The TG7 does not do that and has made me extremely satisfied. Overall this is a great all around camera, as it's tough as the name says. Granted i've never dropped a previous versions nor do I plan on dropping this one but it's made tough. Easy to use and functionality is super simple. Always better to carry a universal camera and not always drain your phone battery. You can charge additional batteries and have expandable memory. It's waterproof and takes great micro-photos... the microscope mode is what I enjoy best about this camera. Great product and great price... best medium range compact camera. 5 Stars from Us...

Beginners’ First Choice
Bought it before a scuba diving trip to USVI, and also took it to the Bahamas this year. It’s stable and easy to use. TG-7 is especially useful for micro photography, even with its default settings. The battery supports several bottles’ recreational dives. The price is reasonable and I would definitely recommend beginners of underwater photography to start with this one.

Good, also many features to learn
I have had the camera for only a few weeks. It has a lot of features, and I am not familiar with very many of them yet, but I will keep learning in the coming weeks. So far I am very satisfied.
