The Millennium Bug

The special effects and the monster was terrific, I love this movie. The story line is great also!.

The characters in the film are pretty heavy handed, particularly the red neck family. In fact, tedious might be a better word for the first half of the film. But once the monster comes out, it was pretty inspired. Whoever handled the special affects is brilliant. Whoever wrote the script is second rate.

AN OK MOVIE. NOTHING REALLY NEW HERE. A LITTLE TOO MUCH GOING ON AT ONCE. EITHER HAVE A THREAT FROM A MONSTER or INBRED MOUNTAIN FOLK.

The quality of the dvd was as listed but I just didn't care for the movie. I would highly recommend this seller though.

Just by looking at the front cover of this movie, you should have known it was low budget. If you thought it was going to be some awesome monster movie like Cloverfield, then your just as stupid as the plot of this movie was. This movie was exactly as it was intended to be, a GOOD AND GORY OLD FASHION MONSTER MOVIE. It was more entertaining than most of the crap that is in the movie theatres today.

This is about as bad as it can get. As a matter of fact I threw it away. Don't remember what caused me to buy it in the first place.

This is a very cool and original new horror that's really worth checking out, if you love old school horror, practical effects and gore and a man in a suit monster then this has it all, the story is great set on 31st December 1999 a couple goes on vacation to a remote ghost town camping to get away from the end of the world media, they soon get more than they bargained for! The movie has very cool effects the monster is awesome, the gore is great too, the cast is good, the movie moves along really well with several different genres all mixed into one, this is a must see, very smart cool original horror gem!! There are some good features too like a commentary and behind the scenes!! This just shows how a low budget goes a long way!!

Strory: Silvester 1999. Eine kleine Familie fährt raus in die Wälder um den angeblich bevorstehenden Weltuntergang zu entgehen. Dabei tauchen jedoch fiese Hinterwäldler auf und nehmen sie gefangen. Doch es gibt ein viel größeres Problem. Immer am Ende eines Jahrtausends bricht ein ausgewachsender Milleniumkäfer aus dem Waldboden, um sich sattzufressen und sich zu vermehren. Und dieser Monsterkäfer mischt Opfer wie Täter gehörig auf.Effekte: Das Model-Haus und die Inneneinrichtung der Hinterwäldler ist selbst gebaut. Eine Model- Geisterstadt die vom Monsterkäfer Godzilla-Like zerstört wird. Sogar der verdammte Wald in der sich die Schauspieler tummeln ist handgemacht. Der Millenium Bug ist ein gut gemachtes und kreatives Kostüm in dem sich ein Schauspieler zwängte. Die paar wenigen Splattereffekte sind ebenso handgemacht. Man merkt das viel Geld und Liebe für das Projekt gesteckt wurde. Was bei heutigen Filmen nur noch selten zufinden ist. Also Freunde von Old-School-Effekten(Wie ich und viele Andere) werden zufrieden sein.Die Schwachpunkte: Schauspielerisch ist nicht immer das gelbe vom Ei. Vor allem die Hinterwäldner, was durch die deutsche Syncho verstärkt wird, sind wohl die dümmsten Hinterwäldler die ich je in einem Film gesehen habe. Was aber auch irgendwie einen gewissen Unterhaltungsfaktor hat. Die restlichen Charaktere des Films sind alle recht stereotypisch und erfüllen ihren Zweck. Was mich bei einem Monsterfilm nicht verwundert, da der Monsterkäfer sowieso der eigendlich Star des Films ist. Die Story selbst ist nicht gerade originell, obwoh sie ein paar gute und villeicht auch unbewusste Lovecraftbezüge hat und die Ausstattung der Blu-Ray ist ziemlich dürftig, da dieser Film mit ein zwei schlechteren Tierhorrorfilmen reingepresst wurde.

Trashiger Film mit netten Ideen und handgemachte Effekten. Das Mediabook ist schön gestaltet und macht sich gut in der Sammlung.
