Spoiler-free: A lovely story showing children how they can spread kindness in their world.
This is a lovely story showing children how they can spread kindness in their world. Faizah's mum is giving her a red dress, the same dress that she herself wore, and that Faizah's sister wore, but now it's Faizah's turn to wear it. Faizah is excited to wear the red dress to school and to enjoy Picture Day, but before the class can have their pictures taken Faizah's teacher Ms Ramirez gives the class an important assignment, to think about and draw the sort of world they want. The hardback is wider than A4 in size and is filled with thick glossy pages of illustrations and text. When Faizah's class start drawing the world they want, Faizah decides that what she wants is a kind world. So after the lesson is over, during break time, Faizah and her friend Sophie decide to start being kind to everyone such as helping to play ball with someone in their class, or helping to find someone, etc. The story in this picture book is quite a simple one, with Faizah and her friend spreading kindness throughout their school and then finally when it comes to school siblings having their pictures taken, something special happens where kindness is brought back to Faizah by her friends when she realises that she and her sister's outfits don't match. I don't want to give away too much about what happens but I did like the overall story in this book. Showing examples of how children can be kind to each other and the overall message of kindness is a good one and I did like it especially with the added illustrations that really make this book so appealling to read. The illustrations are all very colourful and I do love how everyone looks, how you can see their expressions well and I also love how different all of the children at the school look too and there's a lot of diversity in the images too, which is good. I have to say I love some of the illustrations, not just how colourful they are, but what looks like some mixed media used to create some of the pictures making the whole book feel like such a fun one to look at and you can really enjoy this book for the pictures alone. Overall the story and message of kindness is a good one and there is an author note at the back of the book too with a mesage about kindness and faith too. But while I do like the overall story and the mesage about kindness, I do think the story felt a bit long or just not as good as some picture books I've read. But I do love the ending and what happens when Faizah worries about her and her sister not matching, that was a lovely touch to the end of the story. -Thanks to Andersen Press for a free copy.

Great Story, Bad Quality
The story of the book, like that of the first "The Proudest Blue", is very beautiful as are the illustrations. In contrast to the first book, however, the processing is really bad, especially for such a price. Yes, it's hardcover and thus the cover itself is much more stable, but the pages themselves aren't anywhere near as high quality as the first book, you have to be really careful not to tear anything when you turn the page, so I'm deducting two points. I'm always willing to spend money on books, but for just under 20 euros I've adjusted to the quality I'm used to. Too bad.

A beautiful story about friendship โค
I got this book because my 4 year old daughter immediately loved The Proudest Blue (I loved it too!) & I was so excited to see another book by this author. This story follows the same sisters/family and is a real joy to read. The pictures are lovely & the message of caring for your friends & the gift of community building is woven in a unique & touching way. We read this one several times a week & I always look forward to it. A great book!!!!
