Do they help keep the gutters clean in that the leaves also gets removed water lifting the leaves higher onto the guard & wind blows them out?

No they really don't lift the leaves. My down spouts go into drain pipes that run 150-175' to the creek so I use both these and screens over the gutters. If my drain pipes get clogged, it's a real pain to clean them out. With both the screens and these, I don't have a problem. Hope that helps ...

I have a 4 inch gutter and 6inch gutter will this work thanks in advance

The guard is 9" long, 3" wide and 3 5/16" high (not counting tube that fits into downspout). It will fit both 4" and 6" gutters. One note of caution: the downspout hole must be at least 1 1/16" from the end of the gutter or the tube will not align with the hole.
