Great for protecting sprinkler heads that have a longer shank pipe and standard guards lack the depth. If you have sprinkler heads close to storage areas like in your garage these are a must. (See photo.) I am lucky I didn’t have any mishaps for the years before I bought these! NOTE! Before you mount these, be mindful of automatic garage doors, cabinets, etc... where clearance may be an issue because these are pretty deep. You may be surprised at how close the engineer of your building will put these to, say, the path of an automatic garage door. I found out the hard way that a sprinkler head had maybe 1 inch clearance of my garage door! (Thanks for the booby trap!) Luckily when the door collided with the grille it was sturdy enough (and had the right geometry) to protect the sprinkler head just as it was designed to do. The grille bent but not into the head. I was able to temporarily remove it and hammer it into a shape that allowed for the door to clear the grille while still protecting the sprinkler head. You could also use bolt cutters to cut it down as well. Either way, you can make it fit with only a minor compromise and is still worth it. These things are tough and what you need to protect from general carelessness. They are easy to install provided you have a power drill, a 1/4” bit, a #2 philips hand driver, and a small hammer to knock in the anchors into the drilled holes with less risk of swinging and hitting the sprinkler heads, giving yourself a nice cold shower of brackish water. (I used the flat side of a small ball-peen hammer and was very careful.) I DO NOT recommend using a drill to drive the screws! If your driver bit jumps the screw head it could collide with the nozzle and your going to have a bad time. With the plastic anchors a hand screwdriver is all you need to turn the screws and will allow you to mount them straight. These are definitely a five star product and they should protecting the sprinklers in your garage now!

Well made product heavy duty basket I was impressed when they came We did go out and purchase different hardware to install the basket because the hardware that comes with them isn’t that great & it can cause an accident around the sprinkler head area didn’t want to take a chance with it

We bought these after we got bunk beds for our kids In an apartment and I never thought about these until I realized how close the bed comes to the sprinkler system and someone swinging a stuffed animal or blanket could hit the sprinler. Works so far for covering a sprinkler. No one has hit it yet but I like that the red kind of makes it stand out and you think about the sprinkler being there.

Advertises as 3.1" but they are a little under 3" so they don't fit.
