Well made mount
The mount is well made and finished. It is seems to be aluminum with a black coating. It fit my Vortex optic just as it was supposed to. It did not fit the Charles Daly 1911 as the slot was much to small, but a couple of hours with a Dremel tool grinding the bevel on the insert made it work. It took a while because it has to be done carefully, grinding and fitting and grinding. If too much is take odd, it is ruined. My sonโs sight vise was invaluable. As a note, the Charle Daly 1911 was not mentioned in the guns it fit. I bought the mount purely on speculation.

For GI cut, not Novak LoMount
This mount is for the standard GI slide cut. It is not fitting the Novak LoMount. Works as advertised. I mounted it to a EAA Girsan 1911 commander. It required a shim to dial in the green dot sight properly.

Utter disappointment
Mounted this to my Taurus PT1911. It flew off upon firing the third shot. The screws and dovetail part had the threads stripped out. What a waste of 10 bucks.

Not real tough, especially dovetail
Plate is very nice. Dovetail is a nice touch, but 6061 alloy is in no way "highest quality material". It was easy to file to shape, but you only get to do that once!! It is way too soft to hold up to .45acp recoil with any mass attached to the plate. (not a hypothesis), it lost zero on first shot, shook wiggly loose in 7 shots. Deciding now whether to cut myself a new dovetail from either 7075 alloy or steel, or order a different all-in-one dovetail/mount piece (they all cost >>$10...but they all also seem to be made from the right alloy, 7075!)

Good product, great price
Decent product, nice finish, worked for me. I feel most items like this come from the CHI. and clones to many brands, I spent more from (name brands) did I say that out loud ! OH' So I got this at a better price than ????? brand and matched them up. Can you say, identical in every way, period !!!

Good plate, bad screws
Plate is good quality and fits the slide, but the screws are low quality. After 3 magazines, the screws sheared off from the recoil and launched my red dot straight into my forehead lol. I installed this on a Rock Island GI 1911 by modifying the mounting plate to fit the rear GI cuts. If you get this product, make sure you get stronger screws before use.

Fit my 1911 GI perfectly
The post is too short so you can't use the metal shield for Romeo zero. Otherwise I would give a 5 star.
