best switch puller I've ever used, works 100% of the time
Was finally replacing the stock switches on a board and I needed something to streamline the process/protect my fingies. This thing nailed it. The keycap puller is fine, it's a bit wider than the standard ones (the cheap/free 2 in 1 tools out there), but I prefer the the more basic one. No I grabbed this to pull switches and it is perfect for that. Easily the best switch puller out there. All you've gotta do is align the little metal prongs in a north south orientation (of the switch), gently press down until it clicks into place, give it a little wiggle as you pull up, done. It works every time. Press the button to send the pulled switch flying, try to hit your friends or enemies! Good stuff. If you have to use a lot of force, you're not doing it right. There were a few keys that I thought were being stubborn ... nope. I didn't have the puller fully seated properly. No worries, push the button to release and you can go again. Nailed it. You will need to exercise a bit more care around keys wider than 1u, anything with stabilizers, or anything else directly adjacent to the switch. They will decrease the amount of wiggle room (literally) you have to remove the switch. It's cool. Be gentle, wiggle the puller in whatever direction isn't blocked, and they'll pop free. My only complaint/feedback, is that I would like a dedicated tool without the keycap puller wires, or at least a reliable way to remove and reattach them. They kind of get in they way and pop loose from their little pressure fit nooks. Not a fan. Oh also the amazon listing is confusing. There are multiple versions of this tool and there do seem to be differences in the revisions, but it's not clear what those are beyond the different colorways. Still, this is 100% the tool I was looking for. The switch puller is unbeaten. The last switch came off as effortlessly as the first. Any problems? Not for me. But I've seen people having issues with the puller scratching the plates of their boards, the plastic of the puller itself breaking, and a few others. I've experienced none of that, and speaking specifically for the latest release red model I can't imagine how you'd accomplish that. The plate scratching sure, depends on your plate material. I've got a white plate, not metal, and didn't get a single scratch. At no point did the plastic of the puller feel like it was over stressed or flexing, certainly not to the extent that it would break. This thing feels really well made for it's compact size. Similarly the metal prongs of the switch puller themselves have retained their clamping force, probably because the design of the puller braces the prongs against the plastic/resin/whatever housing of the puller itself. Whatever the case again, be patient and don't torque like crazy on your switches. If you slow down just a little bit and go for accuracy when aligning the switch puller you're going to fly through the process. And it's weirdly kind of relaxing and fun. Ejecting the switches adds a little chaos as they go flying off in random directions to an otherwise repetitive/meditative process. Anyway I love this thing. My little fingies are super happy, and so am I.

Great reliable switch puller
It works great and makes things WAY faster than other tools

Great switch puller, weak keycap puller. Questionable value
The keycap puller included in this kit doesn’t work very well and feels a bit flimsy, making it harder to remove keycaps cleanly without readjusting it multiple times. That said, the switch puller works extremely well and is clearly the highlight of the product. It grips switches securely and makes removing them fast, smooth, and much less frustrating compared to cheaper or poorly designed pullers. While I wouldn’t say this kit is worth the full $16 based solely on the overall package, the quality and effectiveness of the switch puller alone does save a significant amount of time and effort. If you frequently swap switches or work on mechanical keyboards, that convenience may make it worthwhile, even if the keycap puller falls short.

Easy to use keycap and switch puller
I have to start by asking, where was this when I hurt my fingers trying to remove the switches that came with a cheap keyboard I purchased with the intent of modifying for learning purposes. No longer do I have to press hard on the sides of the switch puller and wiggle upwards and downwards to get it to loosen up from the PCB. I must admit, most of this may have been my ignorance in how to properly remove switches, but a lot of it had to do with the cheap switches themselves. Once I tried with this switch puller, not only did I not feel the fatigue or pain from having to press on the sides, but it also removed switches without the feeling that I'm going to be pulling out a hot swap socket. I for one will not go back to the standard keycap/switch pullers that come with most keyboards and will only use this tool. For the price, well worth it and it has lasted numerous, and I mean numerous changes of switches over various keyboards. The only thing that I would say to be careful with is that if the keyboard plate has flex cuts, do be careful that you do not accidentally insert one of the prongs into them because good luck getting it out without struggling quite a bit.

Great When it works - and it Neghhiui
Great idea, and when it works - it works well. It just never consistently works well. The problem is the placement you can never just push it straight down on the switch and pull straight back up and snag a switch. (Unless a switch was loose or damaged already). There’s a rocking motion, some finesse required. On top of that you have to adjust how you’re pulling based on the switch and the plate or the keyboard build material. at that point it’s like learning a trade just to use a 15 dollar tool lol Save the money and put it towards nicer keycap puller and a traditional switch tool. Cool concept, just doesn’t play out as well in application. Not a bad product but it doesn’t work as its design markets and that’s a one star for sure.

Great switch puller, not such a great keycap puller
For pulling switches I really like this tool so far. It has held up very well and makes pulling switches so much easier and faster. With my favored previous version (the typical two sided metal wire versions) my fingers would get sore from having to squeeze down to get the switches out. It was also easy to catch the prongs on the board sometimes if your angle was off, or even go down to deep and catch the switch housing instead. None of that to worry about with this tool. Easy to line up, easy to pull and release the switch from the tool. So much more convenient! If it holds up for the long term it will be worth every penny. The keycap puller though shouldn't even be on these in my opinion though. It is way to thin and loose to be very helpful. The standard tool is very superior in this case in my opinion. Maybe it would be alright for some very large keycaps that a typical puller has trouble grabbing fully? They don't stay in place very well, either when they are extended to use or snapped into the body for storage... or when using the switch puller they come loose and get in the way in that case. They should offer a version that doesn't have the cap puller and maybe enhance the durability even more instead. They just get in the way in the current version. The switch puller is so nice though that I still think the tool is worth it, even if you are just getting into a board to tinker every once and awhile. Many aspects of the hobby are tedious and time consuming in ways that do not enhance the experience. This a great tool to make one of those things much more tolerable.

Smart Design, Really Hangs on to Switches!
I had a heck of a time pulling the original OEM key switches on my Keychron Q6 Pro, but this combo key switch and keycap puller hung on and refused to let go until I clicked the top button to release it! The keycap puller itself is a bit MEH, you have to squeeze the sides of the keycap puller in order to get a grip on the keycaps and more often than not the keycap flew off in another direction after pulling. I stopped using it (keycap puller) and used the cheap one sent with my replacement caps (it worked much better). I was thinking about dropping a star rating on this because of the keycap puller but reminded myself that I purchased this primarily for the switch puller, and it worked like a champ, in fact it really impressed me. The switches stayed in the puller after pulling them until you ejected them from it using the top release button, very, very cool. This is a smart design and based on the amount of force I had to use to get the original OEM switches to release, I can safely say that this is also one tough puller that is going to last me a long time!

Nice compact unit that does not damage keycaps or switches
I found this to be excellent for the money. All-in-one unit that is a decent size to hold and use. Recommended for light use and occasional keyboard cleans and servicing.

Absolut nutzlos

Works fantastic
Bought this to replace the pullers that come with switches and keyboards and I am glad I did. Keycaps easily come off. And the ability to remove switches with it definitely takes away from the fear of damaging the caps or switches. Would recommend 5/5
