SUNCASE Gear® Solar Lighter (Green)

Great for camping. Does what is supposed to do.

Got this for my son, who's always losing his lighters and matches, as a backup, at least when the sun is out. We both tried it at different times of the day, and it takes just a little practice to position it just right, but it does work!

Had my doubts at first , but the thing actually works very well . My only real complaint , is that its very flimsy . They should have at least made it out of aluminium , or at the very least , heavier grade plastic . Unfortunately , I think this is going to break on a lot of people . For something meant to be used outdoors , it needs to be more sturdy . Almost gave 3 stars for construction , but it does work , only reason 4 stars .

Credit where credit is due, It does light things on fire using solar power. However, it feels like cheap plastic, and the prongs do not have much flex to them. I fear it would break in my backpack or as I'm trying to load something in it.I think I'll search for one with a metal housing and sprung clips.

Compact

The media could not be loaded. This product does not live up to its claim. I tried it multiple time with different material. I only got a smoking start once out of 6 tries. You can tell in my video it was a perfectly sunny day too. I return the item it will not be in my camping gear box. Not reliable at all. It works but not consistently. 1 out of 6 tries is not good.

While it will start a fire, it is so thin that it will get crumpled as soon as you put it in a back pack or pocket. It would be great if they used material thicker than aluminum foil.

If your life depended on this to make a fire, prepare your funeral plans.
