Best apsc camera available
I recently purchased the Sony A6700 and I can honestly say I’m extremely satisfied with this camera. In my opinion, it’s currently the best APS-C camera on the market. The image quality is outstanding. The 26MP sensor delivers sharp, detailed photos with beautiful colors and impressive dynamic range. Low-light performance is also excellent for an APS-C camera. The autofocus system is incredibly fast and accurate — subject tracking and AI-based detection (including eye AF for humans, animals, and birds) work flawlessly. It makes capturing moving subjects very easy and reliable. For video, this camera is simply amazing. 4K footage is oversampled and looks incredibly detailed, and features like 10-bit recording and advanced profiles give a lot of flexibility for color grading. It feels like a professional filmmaking tool in a compact body. The build quality is solid and the camera feels premium in hand. Despite its small size, the grip is comfortable and the battery life is very good. The in-body image stabilization is another big plus, especially for handheld shooting. Overall, I highly recommend the Sony A6700 to anyone looking for a powerful, modern APS-C camera for both photography and video. For me, it was absolutely worth the investment and I would buy it again without hesitation.

A class leading hybrid APSC camera - love it!
I recently upgraded to the Sony A6700, and it has exceeded my expectations in nearly every way. As an avid photographer and budding videographer, this camera offers the perfect blend of high-end features, portability, and performance whilst maintain affordability. Image Quality: The A6700 delivers stunning image quality with its 26MP APS-C sensor. Whether I’m shooting landscapes, portraits, or action shots, the level of detail, dynamic range, and colour accuracy is impressive. The camera handles low light remarkably well, and the ISO performance is a noticeable improvement over previous models. Autofocus: Sony’s autofocus technology continues to lead the industry, and the A6700 is no exception. The Real-Time Eye AF for both humans and animals works flawlessly, ensuring sharp focus in nearly any situation. The fast and accurate tracking is perfect for capturing moving subjects, whether it's wildlife or fast-paced events. Video Capabilities: For video, the A6700 shines with its ability to shoot 4K at 60fps (100fps with a crop on the image). The addition of 10-bit 4:2:2 internal recording gives me more flexibility in post-production, allowing for colour grading that really brings footage to life and allows me to add my own creative touch. The camera's active stabilisation also helps in producing smooth, steady shots, even when handheld. Ergonomics and Usability: The compact body of the A6700 is a joy to use. It’s lightweight yet feels robust and well-built. The grip is comfortable, and the controls are intuitive, the additional wheel on the front is a nice touch. The fully articulating touchscreen is responsive and a great addition for vlogging and composing shots from tricky angles (low down/high up etc). Battery Life: Battery life is solid for both photo and video shooting. I can comfortably get through a full day of shooting with a single charge, and the USB-C charging is convenient for on-the-go recharges. Additional batteries are recommended but certainly not the amount with previous models. Conclusion: The Sony A6700 is an exceptional camera that caters to both photographers and videographers. Its blend of high-quality imaging, advanced autofocus, and robust video capabilities makes it a versatile tool for creatives at any level. Whether you're upgrading from an older model or entering the Sony ecosystem for the first time, the A6700 will not disappoint!

Perfect sized camera for in the moment and street photography without sacrificing features.
I just reliased I bought this last year and didnt review it! All the better as I can review it with a mind of long term usage, rather than first impressions! I will not be doign my usual quick summary, nor will I do doing a technical review as there are plenty of that on the internet in general. I will focus on how it has helped me and if you havent realised I absolutely love this camera and lens. Hopefuilly if you have similar needs as me, you will love this Camera too. Previously I have owned a Canon 70d (still have it, hoping to sell it soon) with a similar 18-135 lens, and a 50mm prime. Whilst i loved the 70d which was a great rugged camera for its time, the sheer weight and size of it meant that it just wasn't convenient enough requiring a backpack to carry all its stuff. Since a lot of my photos are street, trip and moment photos, in later years I just started using my increasingly competent and very compact Camera phone instead, despite the creative disadvantages. The A6700 pretty much eliminates the problems with bulk I had with the 70d (and its lenses/accessories). It's and its accessories are so small and portable, I can fit It, the 18-135 lens, a small 25mm Viltrox prime lens, a small Godox IT-30 flash, plus other small gubbins, in a small sling bag that is discret, and does not look like a camera bag at all (important if you are walking around in places where you dont want to be a target for miscreants). The sheer conveniece means I have this readily accisibel in my home, and able to just grab it and dash out, meanign i am using it far more often. The fact its also an APS size sensor, means that the lenses can be much smaller (and cheaper for the same quality). This is the big reason why i chose it over the similar sized, but full frame A7C. The A7C would require full frame lenses to take full advantage of the sensor size, which usually are bigger, heavier and considerably more expensive, on top of the fact the A7C is itself more expensive and does not have a mechanical (or global for that matter) shutter, which i do need in some situations. Its size is also really important if you dont want to stand out, very important if you are a street photographer, but important in other ways too. In most cases, especially when using the Viltrox 25mm, I use a wrist strap to carry it, rather than the neck strap (I purchased a combo strap kit with quick change) which again is a lot more easier, and discrete - people just dont stare at you like when you wear a DSLR on a neck strap, most dont even notice my camera on my hand. When people do see it, they seem more comfortable. Durability also seems pretty good. The 70d was built like a tank, and it looks like it. Howeve,r the A6700 whilst compact it seems very well built, and everything goes together well. Butons click well, knobs turn well, and doors open and close well. Its obvious it has a metal frame inside. The only possible weak point is the flip out and rotatable LCD screen when its out, though that applies to the 70d too. I certainly dont feel the need to baby it much. Its video capabilities are also excelent for its class. It should be as it shares a lot of the hardware, sensor and processor of the well regarded Sony FX30, and thus shares most if not all its video capabilities. The only point to note is the lack of a cooling fan, can cause the camera to get hot and turn off when filiming for long periods. This shoudl never be a problem if you are mainly a photographer, with the occasional short video segments that you edit together, however, there are third party attachable coolers that can vastly improve the cooling if your needs are more demanding. Image stabilisation is very good on this camera (both on sensor, and on lens with applicable lenses such as the 18-135), Especially handy for street and indoor photography where you dont have the time or opportunity to stabilse with a tripod. I have been able to shoot fairly sharp photos handheld at 1/60 shutter speeds, in darker places, without fill in flash. In fact, I rarely need to take out the flash with the f1.7 25mm, but even the f3.5-5.6 18-135mm with its additional lens stabilisation, and the great dynamic range of the sensor when shooting RAW I am not having to use the flash as often, and when i do the tiny IT30 is more than enough. Its its very quick to start, and that is important especialy for "at the moment" shots. Probably quicker in practice than my cellphone, especially when wearing it on my wrist. Has a decent highspeed mutishot capability (used it last weekend to get the perfect photo of a fluttering flag). Batterylife is great for me. I have never so far run out of juice whilst out and about, and even if it does, I can charge it via a USB C power bank. Other points I find handy are: - In all respects its still a vary capable APS-C mirrorless camera, and has pretty much all the features you would expect from such a camera, with the expected image Quality (verses smaller sensor). The size of the camera does mean some buttons on larger cameras for features may be missing physically (requiring either the touch screen or menu) but that is a small price to pay for me, others milage may vary. - It's size and APS-C sensor strikes a good balance of size and capability. Whilst not as small as many Micro four thirds, or the tiny but well rated RX100, when used with a compact prime lens, its not that much bigger, and you still have the advantage of a larger sensor, and its other DSLR type features. - Its ability to use the phone for automatic geotagging via its app, and a bluetooth connection is a massive plus, as I no longer need to purchase and carry a seperate (often slow) GPS module. But i think the most important thing? Iam once again enjoying photograhy, and I think thats a damn good reason. 5 stars.

Massive upgrade from my A6300
I loved my previous camera but it just wasn't doing it for me after I used the Sonay Aiii at Uni. Took me a bit to save up but it's 100% worth it for me. I'm still getting used to the extra buttons (e.g. photo to video switch) but there's a lot of potential to be quite efficient if you're a hybrid shooter like I am. I mostly take photos and videos of my dogs so the Autofocus on animal eye tracker has been a game changer. Plus the 4k recording is nice if you want to make social media posts but also landscape videos. Battery life is okay, I'll be getting extra batteries for day trips, especially if you're filming. The camera itself is quite small I'd say, the grip feels natural. I was tempted to get a full frame but having a more compact camera just feels less awkward and more practical. The screen I'm still getting used to. It's nice but I keep folding it the wrong way which sounds dumb but ye...

Dead on arrival, refund still not received.
I ordered the Sony A6700 with lens and battery on December 10th and received it on December 14th. When I unboxed it, it didn’t turn on. I attached a charger to the USB socket and waited, but the charging indicator remained dark. I left it connected for hours, but the camera was still dead. I ordered a compatible battery (Neewer NP-FZ100) and received it on December 16th. The camera worked with that battery. I contacted Sony about the problem on January 10th, and they agreed that the camera’s charging circuitry was faulty. Arranged to return faulty camera, lens and battery, picked up by UPS on Jan 5. Delivered Jan 7th Northampton at 2.15pm. Then it sat in Fulfillment until Jan 12th which was first advised refund date, then “Delayed” until 15th. I am now notified it should be in my account by 22nd. No explanation for any delay, no reason why it took so long to resolve and refund. I am still without the refund. Will never buy such an expensive item from Amazon in future. There is no consideration for customers by the management, though all agents tried very hard to be helpful.

Quality
Finally upgraded from my old A6000 and what an improvement. The focus performance is miles better. The flip screen, although I'm an eyepiece user, the screen does come in handy for some of the tricky shots. The battery seems to last an age. I'm just all round impressed. I should have upgraded as soon as it came out but I held off. I did get £100 cashback from Sony as was the offer. It didn't actually advertise that on the Amazon site but the Sony site showed it when I registered the camera, then it was a couple of months wait before I could claim and another month for it to be paid. I think that I'm sure that I'm glad that I didn't go full frame... I like reach and I still think the 750mm equivelent that I have now is not enough...
