Nova Zembla Red Rhododendron rhododendron nova zembla 'Nova Zembla' is one of the iron-clad rhododendrons, an informal name that indicates rhododendrons that are easy to grow and are hardy, even in cold climates. Its flowers are bright red with darker spots that may fade to deep pink in bright sun and are up to 5 in. wide. It is an upright shrub growing 5 to 8 ft. tall and 5 to 6 ft. wide. Best grown in acidic, humusy, organically rich, moisture-retentive but well-drained soils in part shade. Prefers a sun dappled shade. It was doing ok until March and then it died. I had thought you would send a dormant plant or send a plant in April or May. Will nor order outdoor plants from desertcart in the winter from now on.

Do not order outdoor plants from Amazon in the winter
I live in Wisconsin, USA zone 4B. I recieved this plant in December and it was not dormant so I put it in a south window in my laundry room caring for it like a house plant, even potted up it into a 6 inch pot. It was doing ok until March and then it died. I had thought you would send a dormant plant or send a plant in April or May. Will nor order outdoor plants from Amazon in the winter from now on.

Price was right, plant was not.
Leaves were dull and falling right out of the box. Dead within about one week. I’m not blaming the sender entirely. Weather was extremely hot during transit and delivery delayed a few days.
