If I connect using Matter, will these turn off their wifi setup signals? I want to keep wifi channels unclogged.

These use Wifi and It does not use Thread(I don't think). So the Wifi will be on all the time. Even when you turn it off (unless you unplug it from the power circuit). Like you, I don't like the idea of using Wifi for simple Home control. But I think they can make these cheaper than say Zigbee so this seems to be the future. Hopefully now a day everyone has a router that is efficient with 200 nodes.

How does it sync up with music? Do you have to connect to the device that plays the music or will it hear the beat and change color with the beat?

It doesn't connect with the music app. It uses a device microphone (my cell phone for example) to "listen" to the music and then change the lights with the beat. It does a reasonably good job.

Do you have to pay a monthly fee just to use these lights??

There is no special fee to use the bulb. It's a light bulb that you screw into a lamp and uses electricity just like any other light bulb. This one has optional, as well as on-off features, that you can operate through the associated app, or through Amazon Alexa or the Google Home app (all of which are free to use).

Are they Alaxa Compatible ??
