It's a legit dual probe k-type thermocouple at a bargain price. I picked this model because it is calibratable (though only single-point, iirc). I've worked as a professional metrologist. This will accurately read a very wide range of temperatures and do so instantly and repeatably. If I was using an instrument like this all day everyday I'd want something more robust like a Fluke meter. I'm not sure this thing would survive too many drops on pavement.

Decent thermometer, not quite "instant read" but good enough. Accurate readings, nice form factor and comes with a case.

Great Product

Not the best choice. For the regular kitchen is Ok but not for accurate measurements in any project. 1) two channels are not independent, i.e. replacement of the second channel thermocouple influences on the first channel value; 2) the measurements are changing with time (readings are floating); 3) in reality no possibility to make one channel k-type an second channel j-type manually (do not believe description), moreover manual change of thermocouple type does not give any difference on display; 4) max/min regime with red light display discharges batteries very fast. I see only one plus, cheap. Conclusion: "There is nothing surprising in life".

This thermocouple-based thermometer seems pretty accurate. I used it to check the temperature in my kitchen oven. The oven setting was 30 deg too hot, so we're adjusting the settings to compensate. I have not checked it against any other thermometers, so I cannot vouch for its accuracy.

Seems accurate, every skin temp. I held onto the thermocoupler and it got to around 97F. I got my foundry up to 2050F but then the ceramic thermocoupler started to fail and it stopped reading the correct temp. I can’t fault this tool because, really, I am new to this. Lol. So far so good and if I have any issue I will edit this review. Oh! PS I think they updated the instructions. They seem ok.

Absolute waste of money.. the readings seemed off so I ended up borrowing a friends fluke and the temps were off by 3-5 degrees. No matter what I did it was off.. as someone that works with HVAC,this can not be used for professionals.

Perfect for live temp rise measurements on furnaces. The temp differential is super convenient, Large easy to read numbers, easy to use setting menu. This should be in every HVAC technicians gear bag. I stuck some little flat magnets to the back with double sided carpet tape to make it even easier to use in the field
