Langenscheidt Universal German Dictionary: German - English / English - German

**UPDATED OCTOBER 2017** This is a great little dictionary, and when I say little, it's really tiny - very handy for reading in bed, for example. Despite the small size, the print is clear, with the blue colouring for headwords proving very practical. There are 36,000 references on 608 pages. Unless you don't want a physically small dictionary, I think this is a smarter purchase than the equivalent Collins dictionary . I love it. Langenscheidt is a very well known German publishing house specialising in dictionaries. Their English-German dictionaries are available in both "English" and "German" versions, by which I mean the language used for the introduction and so forth. If you want a more extensive dictionary, than I'd recommend the German edition of the larger Standard German dictionary , 11.1 x 15.6mm, and quite thick at 5.3cm (1632 pages!). This comes in at 130,000 words. Being from 2016, this comes with an access code for the Langenscheidt Wörterbuch (dictionary) app. This is not the case with the equivalent Collins dictionaries which have 112,000 words and some grammar - neither the

I never thought a dictionary could be cute until I bought this one. It's much smaller than I expected, but they've managed to fit a lot of words into it (more than some of the bigger "pocket" dictionaries you can buy) while maintaining easy navigation of it. The vinyl cover feels much nicer than one would expect.

Good pocket dictionary - it's really small! The one I received had stained pages so requested return and soon after received a new one in mint condition. Great device so 5 star for the product and seller.

I bought this for a learner whose native language is German, so she can translate maths terms. Nice book, good small size, and doesn't have any hints or phrases (a plus for my purposes as she can use it in exams but you might prefer one with...) Langenscheidt is the top German publisher of dictionaries.

This dictionary arrived in very fair time. It is easy to handle; arrived safely; was adequately packaged and is fully as described on screen. Needed to aid us, reading a pen-friend,s letters.

Compre este diccionario porque domino el inglés y hay muchisimas palabras en alemán que se parecen a las del inglés. El diccionario es mas compacto de lo que me esperaba, lo cual sería bueno, de no ser porque es a costa del espesor de las hojas (da la impresión que se podrían romper de un soplo de aire), el numero de palabras (no está mal pero podría ser mejor) y la falta de transcripción fonética de las palabras (al ser yo principiante total, esto me fastidia muchísimo).
