This simple shutter release does exactly what it claims: Press to autofocus, then press to take the shot. I have not tried burst mode with it. The plug fits the camera perfectly, and the separate cable extension allows for release within 2 feet of the camera or extended to shoot about 2M away. I tested it on my camera with both this release and an external monitor plugged into the HDMI port. I'd recommend it unless you need the extra features the wireless remotes provide.

Works as advertised. Plug in and you are all set. Would buy again.

I use it on my Nikon D7200 and it works perfectly. I've tried wireless remotes and found them to be less than dependable. This works every time and has a good feel to it. The long cable is a real plus.

I use my mirrorless camera to take images of birds so I set up the camera on a tripod and using a remote switch I can get away from the very shy birds and still take my pictures. The problem this switch solves for me is reach. It comes with an extension cable so I can get an additional 3-4 feet away from the camera and not distract the birds as much. The switch itself is simple to use, plug it in and push the button. It will also lock the button for long exposures. There's no battery to worry about and it's small enough and durable enough to stick into your pocket when not in use. All the functions of the OEM switch with the added length for a fraction of the cost = great value.

Bought this for use with my Canon 70D DSLR and it performs it's job as a shutter release without flaw. Great price too ! This is a must have for any photographer who uses a tripod for long exposures. The only issue that has caused me some trouble is that the jack that connects to the release detaches very easily. This has caused me to do some backtracking on hikes to find where it fell off. Fortunately I found it the times that this happened. Unfortunately, it took several of these instances before I realized that the simple solution was to use some electrical tape to secure the plug to the body of the release. (see photo) Not a big deal and it won't prevent me from giving this a thumbs up.

It works (and its extension cord too); however I'd like to share a couple observations: 1) The "travel" of the switch is (very) short. I'm used to my MC-30 easy half-way-point focus; it's quite an adjustment with this switch; since it is quite quick to shoot. 2) Maybe it's just me but the connector does not "slide" all the way during insertion into the camera before tightening the screw ring. The most I can get is about half way in. I can screw it "tight" (the screw ring stops) at this "half way" point, but have to worry if it can "seal" tightly as my Nikon MC-30 has done (all the way in tight) for me in all past "wet"/misty occasions. Despite the above nitpicks, this is a good backup for my Nikon MC-30, the rubber strain relief of which partially came apart after more than 12 years of faithful service (albeit, the cable itself still functional).

As a traveller , I love this thing. It's quite cheap material but when you use a shutter release , you don't want the camera to break before the controler so it's ok to me. Also , it has a security on it that release the cable before it breaks in the port of the camera. That is SOOOO nice as breaking my camera port would cost around 450$ for replacing at Nikon repair shop. I needed something really lightweight as I travel a lot and my rig is already pretty heavy for trekking. No batteries , just a shutter release button with HOLD function as I need. I've read about other users feeling safe to see their controler had a very tough cable ... semi-rigid . In these cases , if you make a wrong move , it could break the camera port. It's not at all a good thing . Ok , better not put this in your back pockets where you could seat on it because it's plastic made ... so I put 4 stars on the quality of material ... but sincerely , people using these kind of cable shutter release are normally pretty delicate people that do have a decent camera case. Don't hesitate on it . It's cheap but that does the job really well. Just be gentle to unlock the hold button because if you do it too quickly, it may trigger another photo. That's the only down but we get quickly used to it. Now it does not happen to me so frequently . One time by week it happens to me to trigger by error but other shutter releases I seen have also this particularity , even my Sony one if I remember correctly. Have fun.

Es un disparador sencillo, práctico y portátil, util para hacer fotos sin mover la cámara, pero ojo, tienes que revisar la longitud del cable y la compatibilidad de la camara para saber si te sirve para lo que lo necesitas... Ojo, no es intervalometro, ni mucho menos inalámbrico, y en general el material del que está compuesto es de calidad media, justo como seria de esperar en una marca genérica y compatible con varios dispositivos
