Garmin Approach S70, 47mm, Premium GPS Golf Watch, Black

This is a great versatile golf smartwatch suitable for both on-course performance and everyday ware. To me (personally) and after years with that EVER draining Apple Watch, I find the biggest bonus is the fast charging two week battery you can ware 24/7. Great 47mm AMOLED screen visible in direct sunlight. The Virtual Golf Caddy provides data-driven club weather-included plays-like distance recommendations even without a subscription. The every day fitness and lifestyle features heart rate monitor, body battery, sleep score and advanced sleep monitoring, step counter (not just a green circle), calories burned, and many more are accurate and helpful at 77 years young for a 24hour day. Highly recommended…especially to those hackers who think paying $500 for a new driver or putter that they will slice or miss that 2 footer is a reality.

Waited a year before writing this review. GREAT watch! battery lasts roughly 2 weeks (will deplete faster if using GPS often), will notify you of calls (can answer and hang up but cannot talk through watch) and messages/alerts (cannot reply). NOTE: this watch is EXCELLENT for golf! Good at recording jogs (but there's better), it's good at recording bike rides (but there's better). Only complaint: I wish it was easier to navigate during a round of golf (if you make a mistake, it can be difficult to get it corrected quickly).

This watch is pretty awesome. In addition to the standard Garmin watch features that are excellent it’s a great golf watch as well. Keeps track of your score, gives distances to front middle and back of the green like the other Garmin golf watches, but it has a couple of other features that I really like, especially the PinPointer feature that shows you which direction to aim when you’ve got a blind shot into the green. The PlaysLike distances are a nice touch as well. Virtual caddy is sometimes correct but at least half of the time I end up using a different club than recommended because of I use a rangefinder and know the exact yardage in.

Ok now I'm impressed, As a user of each of the "S" series Garmin watches , none have made me write a product review. The S70 deserves a heads up to those who think (like myself) that $700 for another golf watch is just crazy. {Well the wife had harsher words for it } but it's totally worth it. The S70 is a major upgrade across the board. The display is incredible, love the AMOLED black face while unlit. Once its activated, the colors make reading the watch very easy, even in the bright Sun. Hint: Flick your wrist like your checking the time and the watch lights-up on its own ! No more touching the display or pushing a button to read the time while you're carrying bags of grocery's. The heart rate monitor and pulse oximeter is actually accurate , the step counter and sleep timer replaces any need for a smart watch as well. The fairway's depictions are so much nicer and you can move the crosshairs to a layup location and get your distance. Not just 150/100 yards etc.. The "Play's Like" feature was a welcomed surprise also. Now I haven't tried the the music feature and I haven't purchased the detailed greens subscription yet but I will. For now the greens still look amazing and includes more tools for details of the green. I played Golf today, 18 holes , step feature, checked heart rate and pulse ox and my battery is still at 90%. So the battery life is improved as well. * You can use your old power cords from the S30 and up ! I always disliked how that cord plugged into the back of the watch, it never felt completely seated properly. Well this S70 actually clicks in !!! Plus the watch band is much more rugged and has 2 loops to hold the end of the watchband down. I've broken so many of those in the past. Maybe these will last longer... Summation: If your on the fence because of the price, think again. It's the best upgrade so far and I don't regret this purchase at all. It's totally worth it this time.. Great Job Garmin !!!

The only watch that meets and in some ways exceeds a Apple Watch Ultra, I bought it as a golf/fitness watch but it is staying on my wrist more and more replacing my Apple Ultra. The battery time is in days (5 days or more). Apple Watch Ultra is two days at most for my usage. Fitness tracking of a Garmin can not be beaten for accuracy. This Approach S70 has a 47mm display and is super bright and easy to read. You can customize every watch face or make your own as needed. There are many watch faces in the Garmin Connect IQ Store as well as apps for free or buy. Watch bands are easy to find to replace the rubber one as I did. It is a 22mm post and I have a couple in quick connect setup for my wrist size. The price stung a little at first but now I could not think of not having it. I found a charger desk stand here on amazon that worked great after I set it up properly for my S70. Link below. In the last picture is my favorite watch face so far and found it at the IQ Store. HUGE Selection. Apple not so much but that is expected from them as it is a closed OS to outside input. As a long time adherent to a similar product, I was at first sceptical of this. However, it is the real deal. Use it wit the CT100 tracking device and it tells you all you want to know about how well (or how badly, unfortunately), you hit that little white ball that dominates our lives. It is super sensitive, especially on the green (I have given it a non-male name) but very easy to correct as you leave the green. As a stats geek, this has to be the easiest device to use. The fact that I can pace (another) missed green without the device defaulting to number of putts is an added bonus. The GPS (and I also have a Z82) is phenomenally accurate. Actually, scarily so! Looking forward to see how it performs outside of its home country.
