Men's 1.5 inch Adjustable Y Back Suspender,Elastic Hook End Suspenders

Bit of background: My stepfather is 87 years old and being this old he doesn't eat much; weighing maybe a 110lbs. Weighing as little as he does he has zero butt and zero gut thus no matter how tight he gets his belt there's nothing to actually grab on to to keep his pants up. The man was continuously pulling them up. They have actually fallen down walking into Walmart, standing up after eating at our local Cracker Barrel, and after sneezing while waiting in line at the bank. The poor guy even has trouble carrying his lunch from the kitchen to the table without them dropping down on him. Fortunately, he when his pants have accidentally dropped, his tidy whiteys have been both tidy and very whitey (he bleaches them). Now, on to my review: When I first gave them to him he wasn't impressed with them only because the others he has (the traditional clip-on the actual pant ones) are difficult for him to use. He's literally come out of his room with one side of his pants several inches shorter on one side. I purchased these for him because they looked easier for him to use as they hold simply hook on a belt in one place in the back and, of course, two places in the front vs the traditional ones which clip on the pants in two places on both the front and back. In the beginning, he would only wear them when he would leave the house, but after a couple of times wearing them out he has since started using them everyday and has told me he's quite pleased with them and has hinted he would like some of the other colors. The plastic pieces, which go around a belt, are a nice weight, are made solid and they are easy for him to get on to his belt. The actual material which makes up the rest of the suspenders are made with solid materials which feels like they are going to hold up for a long time. I'm happy he's happy and my mother is happy she doesn't have to worry about his pants dropping ship in public anymore.

I have recently purchased a pair of suspenders similar to these, but from an individual company. They worked tremendously well, but were very cost prohibitive. I saw this product on Amazon and thought I would try it to see how it compared with the expensive pair. These are Very useful and do the job perfectly. I have no complaints whatsoever.

I wasn't sure about the hook end design but it seems to be more effective than the clips, which don't always want to stay. The major caveat is that you have to wear a belt, which I always do anyways. Quality looks decent with my initial experience with it yesterday. Hoping the plastic hooks don't break. Metal would last longer but it would be more likely to scratch up a leather belt.

These were great suspenders from what I can see with just trying them on so far. The material seems to be ample and very elastic. I'm not sure how the plastic belt hooks will hold up with time, but they seem to be made heavy enough from initial observation. I'm not an overly tall guy. I'm 5'10" and I had the adjust the buckles down pretty low for a proper fit for me. I would imagine if someone was only marginally taller, they would run out of adjustment. I'm certain that one of these tall beer belly shaped fellows that I often see wearing suspenders would find these to have enough adjustment. They're not bad at all, but maybe a larger size needs to be offered for taller or heavier guys. I'm not a very heavy guy. I wanted these to help keep my BDU pants up when I'm working on my deer lease and heavy tools attached to my belt like Machete's or hatchets. These tend to sag my belt down on the right side and these suspenders help to alleviate that problem. However, I did not have a ton of adjustment left in the suspenders. BUT...I did have enough.

I've worn suspenders and a belt for years. I always used suspenders with the traditional metal clips, which eventually tended to damage the trousers where the clips attached. I decided to try these belt suspenders and was very pleased with the result. They work just as well and are comfortable. The only fault I can find is that they should also offer two inch wide straps.

These are great suspenders, don't slip at all. And the flag patern looks awesome.
