It looks and feels cheap, but I was able to connect the USB 3 ports on my case to the USB 2 jumpers on my motherboard. Charging and data transfer both work.

I broke my 3.0 usb moderboard header pings and this usb 3.0 header works great now i dont have to go for someone for a fix to my moderboard

I recently built a PC out of older hardware. The motherboard was a 2nd generation Intel chipset, and did not have a USB3 header. But the case I was using had USB3 ports on the front (which had no way of connecting to the motherboard, of course).My two options were to either place some black tape over the dead ports, or figure out how to connect them to the motherboard. I found these adapters, which quickly allowed me to plug the USB3 connector from the case into a USB2 header on the motherboard. The "blue" ports on the case won't be any faster, but at least they will work!

I bought this because my board didn't fit properly and it bent a few pins. So I got this to fit it to one of my headers. It went into a 3.1 header but only get 2.0 speeds which is fine because the original header was only a 2.0 header anyways.
