Great for Raspberry Pi
Perfect for using with a Raspberry Pi to help alleviate the bandwidth limitation on the ethernet port. Using this instead of directly connecting to the Pi's ethernet port has given a noticeable speed boost, which is mandatory for things like streaming high bitrate video content from a home NAS for example.

Works with Nintendo Switch
Works very well with nintendo switch (It will not increase ftp speeds to device if using the ahem eeerrrm SXOS) Bios update from ninty required for faster transfer speeds.

A very big speed difference (in a good way) when compared the onboard ethernet on a Raspberry Pi (V2). I use the Pi as a proxy for the whole house and this handles it perfectly.

Excellent little unit
Excellent little unit, used this on Raspberry Pi, Intel NUC (extra network port) and MS Surface Tablet. I've foudn this to work very well, whilst not able to fully utilise the 1Gbs maximum bandwidth of a gigabit network port (best I've seen is around 450 Mbps) this is still far better than what using either the internal network port can deliver on the Raspberry Pi or what Wi-Fi can delivery on the Surface or NUC.I have not required drivers for any of the above units, the drivers are bundled with Raspbian & self install on both NUC and Surface. I've pruchased around 40 of these units over last year and not had a single failure, whilst the build quality is very good, they have proven durable in day to day use.Excellent value for money whether required for a hard wired Ethernet link on a table or laptop lacking an RJ45, as an extra network port, or to improve network throughput on a Raspberry PI.Strongly recommended.

WARNING only working at 100mbs
I have 3 Raspberry Pi's 2 & new 3. While it does work after some installation work, use the command "ip link set eth1 up" to fire it up and then edit the network config manually or it won't see it. The driver is was already part of Ubuntu 14 lts so nothing to do there. The big BUT s far is that all three Pi's are only connecting at 100mbs on both my GB switches. Spent hours googling and can't find much, I did find the drivers were already installed in /lib/modules and loaded.Got to the bottom of the problem, the device is very senestitive to the quality of the patch leads, no matter cat5 or 6.

Tripled transfer speeds on raspberry Pi 2. Easy Installation too.
Using this with Raspberry Pi 2 and OpenMediaVault OS. I bought this to speed up my network connection to the Pi which I'm using as a media server/nas.Before buying this my transfer speeds where slow (around 4-5Mbps) using both ethernet and/or wifi. Installed this by simply by plugging in and enabling it as the default ethernet device a that was it. Speeds have approx tripled and at worst, doubled. HD media plays back far better with no stuttering or buffering. Can't speak for other devices, but if you want to speed up your Raspberry Pi 2 transfer speeds on your network, then this is what you need. And a bonus too is that it's fairly inexpensive too.Delivered in a couple of days by Amazon to N. Ireland. First class service all the way.

Works on switch
The Nintendo switch comes with no existing Ethernet input but plugging this into a usb port on the Nintendo switch dock works perfectly.

works well
I bought this for my raspberry pi v1 which doesn't have an Ethernet connector. This device worked first time and does not require any software installed.

Not working with Windows 8.1
Not working with Windows 8.1 . The driver is no longer compatible to the OS and no one is interested in fixing it . Neither TRENDnet nor ASIX . TRENDnet has a very bad support they have customer support executives who has no technical knowledge on their products but just work like answering machines

It works on the Nintendo Switch, and it uses the same chipset as the "official" Nintendo-branded adapter
I bought this for my Nintendo Switch as a cheaper alternative to the semi-official Hori adapter, and I was not disappointed. This adapter uses the exact same chipset and offers the same specs as the Nintendo-branded one for half the price. I have only tested it on the USB 3.0 port on the back of the Switch's dock, but I am getting a gigabit connection and it is working as expected. The cable on the adapter is long enough that it clears the door on the back on the Switch dock when plugged into the rear USB port, so the door is able to close properly. The adapter portion hangs out the side of the dock; it's somewhat visible in my setup, but not a huge deal. My only complaint is that the adapter is only available in white and it would look a lot more discrete if it was black to match the Switch's dock and the other cables.Overall, this is definitely a great alternative to the Nintendo adapter if you're looking to save a few bucks.

Does in fact work with macOS Mojave 10.14.2; just requires manual installation of the driver first
Some previous reviewers from 2018 commented on how this unit doesn't work with a Mac... those issues no longer exist with the latest macOS at the time of this review (10.14.2 Mojave). However, it is NOT simply plug & play like most people might expect.... you need to go to the TrendNet support site for this product and download the driver for macOS. Once I installed that baby I was good to go.... if you do it right you'll see the adapter show up as "AX88179 USB 3.0" in your network settings. I tested this unit out on my Raspberry Pi 3 B and B+ as well... it was plug & play... sounds like the same will be the case with Windows, but I don't have a PC so I haven't tested that.I only have 200Mbps internet so I didn't get to test the full capabilities of this unit - but it certainly performed better than my older model 10/100 adapter from Apple, which of course maxed out around 100Mbps.

Macht genau das, was sie soll
Habe eine kostengünstige 2. Netzwerkkarte für mein OPNSense BOX auf Basis Proxmox gesucht. Passt hervorragend und war schnell einzurichten.
