I like these. They are quality built and I like how they lock into place. Took me. Second to realize there are buttons on them to release. That was / what the heck moment but I like the feature.

These cables worked exactly as expected. The build quality feels solid, the connectors fit securely, and the cables have been very reliable with no signal dropouts or flickering. I needed a USB-C to DP cable to connect my MacBook to an external monitor. Yes, I could have used HDMI to HDMI (MacBook M1 Pro) but HDMI cables tend to be thicker, stiff, have a larger head, and just aren't as sleek of a connection. There are also other drawbacks, but that isn't for this review. These cables (2 pack) came inside a bag, and inside the two cables were in a vacuum sealed bag. Now that's an impressive way of packaging something - not going go get dirty, and you definitely know you aren't getting a used or returned item. The USB-C head is a nice and smallish size, the cables are serial numbered, the DP heads come with a sticker that tells you you have to press on one side to release the connection (once plugged in), and the cables are nicely flexible, with just a tad more stiffness than I'd like, but as they break in I'm sure this will change. I've found this to be the case with most cables. These cables have worked great paired to my Dell 4K monitor and MacBook, you get fast and sharp video as you should, audio pass through is perfect and I couldn't be happier. They are DP1.4 cables and are backwards compatible to DP1.2 Good cables, good value.

One of the two cables was defective. Because they were advertised/sold as new, I trusted the product to work. It never occurred to me that the static, flickering images, and frequent blackouts on my external monitor were due to a new, expensive cable. Apple community forums showed similar display issues with other MacBook Air/Pro users, so I spent many hours over the past month troubleshooting with Apple Support. Certain troubleshooting tips temporarily resolved the display issues, as well as swapping cables between my two external monitors. Right before I was about to take my brand new MBP to the Genius Bar for an inspection of the ports, I determined through yet another swap of hardware peripherals that the cable was the culprit. I wish I could have all those hours of my life back, but I suppose a lesson was learned - I'll never trust another product from Cable Matters. What. Expensive. Trash. Yes, they replaced it under warranty, but it took over a week to ship AND I have to drop off the defective one at the post office. I'm actually surprised they didn't add insult to injury by making me pay for the return postage.
