Color is good, function great, it’s not dusty, durable, great idea and it’s a good amount too!

I adore this sand. I use it on top of soil to prevent gnats and other pests. It is clean and filtered and doesn't have large rocks, chunks, or substrate. I have not noticed any pests in it. It is soft and looks clean in my pots.

Great product for adding drainage to potting soil.

So, this is a lunch bag sized bag of sand. I thought it was 40 lbs. I must have read one description and put another product in my cart. It's very expensive for such a tiny bag. Oddly, I bought a 40 lb bag from Amazon before and was pleased with it. It's easy to use, and has a nice color and appearance. I doubt it will retain a lot of moisture, since it's sand. I didn't try to smell it and can't see why it would have anything to do with mold growth. I don't think mold grows on sand or that sand deters the growth of mold on whatever it's covering or mixed with.

I bought this because I love desert plants and terrarium settings. But I hate my postal worker. The sand is very clean, pours well. Only a little dusty. I mean, what more could you ask for when ordering small amounts of sand on the internet? I sometimes carry small handfuls in various pockets cause the sand is very coarse and you never know when or where you might need pocket sand. This is a great variety here if you can source your own.
