The (now seemingly rare) internal CD/DVD drive on my ageing PC finally gave up the ghost completely, and I opted for this external drive as a replacement. Really pleased with it. Absolute simplicity itself to set up (in that, actually, there's no set-up required at all: you just plug the integral lead into any available USB-A port on your kit), and although the lead is extremely short - such that others may legitimately find it to be too short for their own purposes - it transpired to be the perfect length for my desk top, so I have no complaints on that score. It both records and plays CDs and DVDs reliably and consistently. And it's a very reasonable price, too. All in all, I should have stopped relying on my increasingly temperamental internal drive years ago, and purchased one of these little beauties instead. Five stars.

Good buy especially for the price .Works pretty well and connects quickly . Very easy to set up just plug and play. Compact and portables you can carry it where ever in your bag. In case you are hoping to use this on a tv it wont work and it was made for computer with driver software.

I ordered a “Used - Like New” so that could be where my issues come from. It’s not silent, every so often you can hear the fans going, however, if you’re focused on your film it’s not that noticeable. Sometimes I have to put a disk in multiple times before it recognises it, but that could be an issue with my disks. The eject button doesn’t always work and I have to use the eject button on my laptop to open it, that’s really my biggest issue with it, the rest I’m not too bothered about. It does work with the MacBook M1. Overall it works well and does as it’s intended, I’m happy with it.

Well packaged and all arrived in good condition. Pretty much a plug and play. Basic but it works well.

Bought to use for exercise DVDs - Highly impressed with this little gadget. Was worried at first it wouldn’t work with my Mac and Apple systems, but have had zero issues. Didn’t need to install any other software - just plug in and click play! Note: I have only used this for basic DVDs - it won’t work for blu ray and I have not used for CDs.

This is possibly the most frustrating piece of equipment I have ever owned. When the drive actually decides to work, it's fine - I mean, it's a DVD player, pretty simple right? Well, half of the time my Mac doesn't recognize the drive, even when using the additional external power source. The main connector cable has both USB 2.0 and USB C connectors. I have tried both (Mac has only USB C inputs so I used an adaptor to trial the old USB connector). Both methods of connection are unreliable. It's such a shame that it only works sometimes. Would expect such a rubbish piece of kit to be a lot cheaper. UPDATE: changed review to one star only a few days after writing the initial review because now the drive won't work at all. It was making strange noises and caused my Mac to restart three times before stopping working altogether.

I PURCHASED THIS ANTIKA USB OPTICAL DRIVE BECAUSE IT OFFERS EVERYTHING THAT I NEED AND COMES SUPPLIED WITH ALL RELEVANT CABLES, INCLUDING ONE THAT YOU CAN PLUG INTO A SUITABLE MAINS ADAPTER (NOT SUPPLIED) TO PROVIDE EXTRA POWER, ONLY REQUIRED IF YOUR LAPTOP CANNOT PROVIDE ENOUGH POWER BY JUST USING THE USB CABLE SUPPLIED. I LIKE THE FACT THAT ONE CABLE IS A USB C CONNECTION, WHICH I USE. NO ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE IS REQUIRED IN ORDER FOR THIS DRIVE TO WORK. IT WAS SET UP VERY QUICKLY AND FUNCTIONS PERFECTLY, TIU CAN USE BOTH DVD DISCS AND CD ROMS. GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY AND IT LOOKS GREAT TOO! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BUYING THIS DRIVE.

Denediğim kadarıyla hem Windows 11'de hem de Linux Fedora sistemimde sorunsuz çalıştı ve çok memnun kaldım. Mac cihazım yok ancak Linux'ta çalıştıysa muhtemelen Mac'te de sorunsuz çalışır. Cihaz sağlam ve kaliteli görünüyor.
