The book is around 700 pages long and has chapters covering every aspect of the exam including small sections that give you a little bit of history into the subject to fully prepare you for real world use. The book comes with a disk that contains practice exams questions and other little snippets of useful information. All in all this book has filled me with confidence ahead of my pending examination and I would 100% recommend it to others looking to do the same. Review: Brilliant - Just what I needed! Taking my test 2 days from now and reading this a few weeks in advance has really helped in retaining knowledge. Although it won't be much help now the 006 has almost expired I would imagine the new version to be just as useful. Thanks Mike!

Great
This book has more than enough to pass the Network + exam in. If you compare it to the videos you will find online, it goes over an above what is covered. I used this book and online practice exams and aced the test just studying intensively for 2 weeks. The best way to measure study time is in hours though. I did abut 3 hours a day for 2 weeks. I will mention though, the content in it is near enough the same to the older book, which is considerably cheaper. So if you were on a tight budget, you could buy the previous book for a fraction of the cost, and supplement the knowledge with Professor Messers free content online. Then BOOM easy Network+ ticket for you.

Helped to pass my Network+ Exam!
Helped to pass my Network+ Exam! I ended up using this as more of a reference along side Mike’s videos that can be found on his website or Udemy, the book has a lot of detail and to be honest I wouldn’t want to read it cover to cover, but that’s just me. I would also recommend when buying the exam voucher from CompTIA to get the deluxe pack which contains a retake voucher and also access to CertMaster which wasn’t overly helpful, but was a good tool to see what sort of knowledge I have or haven’t got!

Mike Meyers writes in a way that is easy to understand. He builds on concepts gradually and logically so that the core issue gets clearer as you read on. I am yet to take the exam but I am enjoying the read.

Not concise, padded and long winded
I find it difficult to give this book even 3 stars as 2.5 in my opinion would be the most I could give. The pros are this book is easy to understand for beginners and covers many old and new topics in networking. Certain illustrations are well presented and there is a clear chapter progression throughout leading from topic to topic. The cons however become more apparent the further you read in. This book is seriously repetitive and Mike goes over everything constantly which can lead to the feeling like you're going round in circles. Added to this Mikes writing style is far from straight to the point. Whole paragraphs for instance are devoted to talking about how a printer is a called 'kitty' and what the technicians at a fantasy company do to keep it running when the actual point of the chapter is about SNMP. By the time you get to the bread and butter of the section you've largely forgotten what chapter is about. This padding could have been removed making for a much slimmer, easier to read and informative book. You can find yourself getting lost in descriptive text which has nothing to do with what you are learning about. Finally the illustrations are largely wasted throughout. There are clearly times where Mike could have just stopped writing so much confusing text and drawn a picture which would have said a thousand words. Instead you're greeted with a picture of a laser printer or a server which offer no real help other than to show you what these devices look like. Given the importance of networking diagrams in the industry I can't believe how few there are in this book. The last chapter drones on about troubleshooting techniques and gets old very fast in a long winded way. The section would have been better used to recap and reinforce key points. Overall the book isn't terrible and will help those looking to take their network+ exam however you will find yourself looking for more concise and compact information post your read through of this book. I've read other more concise network+ material and would personally recommend you look around, read samples and choose logically. If you like reading paragraphs that drone on about fantasy scenarios in a long winded way before you actually learn anything then get this book. If you're looking for a concise and cleanly written 'no drivel' network+ book then look elsewhere.

Book is amazing and passed the Network + after one month of study. Mike Meyers writing style is easy to understand and he is very detailed. He gives so much extra information he will even mention that this section will not be in the exam to make the reader more informed and more well rounded. He offers two reading sections "extra not need for test" and "what you need to know to pass exam". Book was a great read and has humor in it. The picture tutorials are so easy to understand that a middle school student can understand. The book is very technical and very educational. It's a shame Mike doesn't have a CCNA or CCENT book. For A+ people studying I would recommend his books as well. When studying for any cert never use one source. Overall book was enjoyable and answered a lot of questions.

Buon libro
