Light not working explained.. it works.
The door works as expected. Ensure the (2) wires connected are clean and free of oxidation. Once done, you might want to add a conductive gel to prevent further oxidation and increase longevity. The light. This doorbell specifically the light, is a NO/NC (Normally Open/ Normally Closed) circuit. Normally Open, the light is "On" until the button is pressed. The opposite for Normally closed; the light only works when the button is pressed. So, once wires are connected and you do not get desired results, switch the wires. I have mine connected "Normally Open" so, the light is always on until pressed. (Picture attached). The picture was taken 8:30am from nine feet away with the sun facing the door. It's kinda hard to tell from the pic but, the light is on and noticeable. At night, the light gives a soft glow equal to a night light, eh, maybe brighter. This switched replaced the original that was installed twenty years ago.

Nice compact doorbell that works perfectly without a diode
Very nice doorbell with added visibility of a lighted button. I am using it with a Heath Zenith White Wired Doorbell Chime Model Number: 18000088 and it works perfectly, no extra diode required.

Nice Bright LED Light
Really well made and super easy to install. It was equally as well made as the old door bell button that was decades old. Love the brighter light of the LED. Works very well. Very happy with it.
