The Korean Cookbook [Park, Junghyun, Choi, Jungyoon] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Korean Cookbook Review: Excellent cookbook - One of the best cookbooks I've read and used. Beautiful illustratiıos, interesting historical and cultural background provided for many dishes and, of course, delicious recipea. Review: Spectacular and useful book - I was so excited to receive this book, and it does not disappoint! With all the things you would love to make, and many you hadn't thought of, simply presented and clearly explained. Rice dishes, banchan sides, stews, porridges and more... each one concisely formattted, with preparation time, cooking time and serving sizes right at the top. With beautiful but not excessive use of photography, it's content-rich. Right away, I found some interesting bibimbap variations, simple and appealing gimbap recipes, and a lovely spicy bibimguksu noodle dish, most of which take less than a half hour to prepare, and use ingredients that I already have from my limited Korean cooking activities. Yes, I have the green plum syrup, but it's been sitting in the fridge. Now, I'm putting it to work. There is a wonderful section on master artisans toward the back of the book, with profiles of expert in each important category of Korean food. Really, this book offers so much. If you want to make your own kimchi, you can do that; if you just want to understand how to combine ingredients for an authentic flavor, this book will be extremely helpful. From the history of Korean cuisine to the contents of a modern Korean pantry, let The Korean Cookbook be your guide.

Essential for anyone interested in Korean Cuisine
This book is breathtaking in its scope and beauty. The history and current practices of Korean food and culture are explained and the recipes are authentic and extraordinary. It is a treasure. Fantastic gift for anyone interested in authentic Korean cuisine. I have studied and cooked Korean food for over 30 years (probably closer to 40!), and I am learning much from this book. Will be cooking from it today and for many years to come. I bet the authors will be up for many prestigious cookbook awards. BTW, I saw the review about the quality of the book, and I completely disagreed. It veers towards a minimalist presentation, crisp, beautiful.

Needs better packaging during shipping
This book is wonderful! I purchased it for my brother for our secret Santa. He is so happy with the book and the recipes look incredible. My only issue is it didn’t come in any sort of packaging and the corner is damaged. It’s unfortunate because this cook book is fairly expensive and it was a gift. My only suggestion would be to put this product in a box or put foam on the corners to keep it in good condition!

Highly recommend!!
So many recipes, such a great resource if you love traditional Korean food! The layout is easy-to-read and the amount of recipes they pack in this book is amazing (and yummy!)

Korean Cuisine in full transparency!
The team behind the #8 restaurant in the world Atomix (#1 in North America), located in NYC, has combined efforts with the glorious team over at Phaidon to release a brand new cookbook revolving around Korean cuisine with little pockets of Korean history sprinkled across the book as well. With the recent meteoric rise of Korean culture across the western world, it only makes sense that we get this beautifully curated cookbook about Korean cuisine as well. Recipes range from traditional Korean dishes all the way through some reinvented renditions and modern takes on very familiar Korean ingredients and flavors as well. Overall, in my humble opinion, a must own for anyone with an ounce of interest in Korean culture!

Fantastic Korean cooking bible. I keep referring to it. Love the way they have laid out the book and how the pages and recipes are divided. It works with my way of thinking. If anything. I wish the cover was more durable, because the fabric covering the board is an organic matt-like paper, which can easily get scuffed. This by no means would put me off from purchasing it again though.
