I bought these specifically to not have a seam across my toes. They don't. My new shoes were irritating my little toe because the seam was rubbing. These are perfect. I wear a ladies 11, and ordered LG. They feel great, and are not too low on my heel.

Performance: - Fit and Compression: Tight, particularly around the toes—closer to a half-size small. I recommend sizing up. A medium was too tight and had to be donated. - Thickness and Protection: Thicker than comparable brands (Danish Endurance, Timberland), particularly at the heel and toe. Excellent for impact protection, which makes them suitable even for boots and heavier shoes. - Moisture Wicking: Strong but not dramatically superior to other high-performance options; notably better than standard polyester blends. Durability: - Real-world lifespan is 12–18 months. Thread splitting typically begins around the 10–12 month mark, with large holes appearing by month 14. - Even after major wear, ribbing and arch support areas often remain intact, keeping the socks usable for lighter use. - Shoe fit likely impacts wear rate—friction points accelerate breakdown more than general fabric fatigue. - No real apparent decline of quality with washing (always cold, medium or gentle cycles, and low-heat drying) Cost Considerations: - Balegas are expensive relative to competitors. The Balega Silver Compression Fit Performance socks are outstanding. They fit snugly without feeling tight and provide excellent compression and arch support. They stay in place all day with no slipping or bunching, even during long walks or workouts.
