Why is the seat difficult to tighten? The rest of the bike was easy, but not the seat.

I had the same issue when i first got the bike. When the seat was at the lowest point I had a hard time making it tight because I didn't have enough room to get the torque needed to tighten it but as I raised the seat i had more room so i was able to use more torque.

how much does it weigh?

I don't know, i never recieved the balance bike.

What is the seat height?

The seat height in the lowest position is approx 14" (the seat padding gives some) and has approx 3.25" of height adjustment.

Is the seat height in the lowest position, I saw a reference to 12"? Will it fit 2-2.5 year olds or is it for 3 and above due to height/size?

Yes the bike is recommended for age 3 plus due to height. But I think it also depends on the size of the child.I must say this balance bike is the best I have seen. The braking system is an added bonus. Most don't have that feature. The quality is superb.
