Great item, would definitely recommend.
I recently purchased the eufy Security S380 HomeBase (HomeBase 3), and itâs honestly the heart of my whole security setupâan excellent product. The setup was very simple and quick, especially if youâre already using other eufy devices. Everything connects seamlessly, and the app is very easy to use, so managing your entire system in one place is straightforward. What really stands out is how it brings everything together. It acts as a central hub for all your cameras and sensors, making the whole system feel much more organised and reliable. It can handle multiple devices at once, which is perfect if youâre building a full home security setup. The performance is excellent, especially with the built-in AI features. The facial recognition is a great addition, helping to distinguish between family members and strangers, which adds an extra layer of security and convenience.Another huge plus is the storage. You get built-in storage with the option to expand it massively, and the best part is there are no monthly fees, which makes it far better value compared to many other brands.Overall, this is a fantastic productâpowerful, reliable, and easy to use. It really ties the whole eufy system together, and I would definitely recommend it if youâre looking to upgrade your home security setup.

Excellent Addition to My Eufy Security Setup
Really impressed with the Eufy S380. The build quality is excellent, and Iâve had absolutely no problems with it so far. It integrates seamlessly with my existing Eufy devices, making it an excellent addition to my home security setup. One of the biggest advantages is the ability to install your own hard drive to expand the storage capacity, which Iâve already done. This is a fantastic feature that offers much more flexibility and avoids being restricted to the built-in storage.Overall, a great-quality product that works exactly as expected. If youâre already invested in the Eufy ecosystem and want to expand your security system, Iâd highly recommend it!

A great add on to the Eufy camera network.
This device has added a load of new features to the camera with regards to using AI to recognise the type of recording it has captured, and it seems pretty impressive so far.The instructions are acceptable, one thing I wasn't too happy about was it said I had to connect each camera individually by putting them within 1 metre of the Homebase, which would have meant getting the ladders out and taking down 4 cameras. I rang my mate Daz who said "just ignore that", so I left them where they were and clicked ok, and sure enough they were all added no issue. Glad I asked Daz as I would have been out in the rain on the ladders, and who knows, I might have slipped off the ladder and broken my neck, or worse.....so its a bit silly of Eufy to stipulate this on the setup. The response time to view recorded issues on the app has improved. It used to be up to about 10 seconds to start playback of a clip, now its like 1 second.Im happy with this purchase.

Impressive security system
I bought the eufy HomeBase and S330 cameras for use in tropical Africa. I deliberately opted for a dual setup because I wanted some redundancy in my security arrangements in case of Wi-Fi problems, as well as the flexibility to redeploy the cameras to a more rural location if necessary. So far, I have been very pleased with the system and am enjoying exploring its capabilities.Person tracking is one of my favourite features. It is great to see the cameras follow movement, making it easier to monitor activity around the property. The system also generates security reports based on detected events, and its familiar-face recognition works correctly most of the time. The cameras also have a spotlight that automatically comes on at night unless you disable it. This is useful for illuminating activity after dark, and the option to switch it off is welcome if you prefer more discreet monitoring.Another particularly useful feature is the ability to share access with friends and family. I can choose which cameras they can view, including the associated recorded events. This makes it easier for trusted people to keep an eye on a property without necessarily giving everyone access to every camera.I also appreciate that the cameras can detect motion outside designated activity zones. While activity zones help focus monitoring on areas of interest, detection beyond those zones can provide additional awareness of what is happening around the property.Mounting flexibility and coverageI installed my cameras under the eaves, which provides a practical mounting position. I also bought additional mounting accessories costing around ÂŁ20 each. I mounted one camera on a pole and the other on the corner of a building to obtain better coverage of the areas I wanted to monitor.I considered this money well spent. Rather than buying more cameras to cover additional areas, I could use the mounting options to make better use of the cameras I already had. Careful positioning can make a significant difference to coverage and may be a more economical solution than simply adding more cameras.Another feature I particularly appreciate is the long connecting cable between the solar panels and the cameras. This allows me to position the cameras where they provide the best security coverage while placing the solar panels separately in locations where they can receive optimal sunlight. This is especially useful when the best position for a camera is not necessarily the sunniest position for its solar panel.Think carefully about installation height. One practical lesson I have learnt is that mounting a camera higher does not automatically mean better identification of people or objects on the ground. A higher position may provide a broader overview, but the increased distance and steeper viewing angle can reduce the detail captured. It is worth balancing overall coverage against the need for clear images of faces and other ground-level activity.I am considering adding a doorbell camera to capture visitors at closer to eye level. This could provide more useful detail at the entrance. For vehicle registration plates, however, a doorbell camera may not be the best solution; a suitably positioned camera with appropriate resolution, field of view and lighting may be more effective, particularly at night or when vehicles are moving.Suitability for tropical conditionsMy intended use in tropical Africa makes environmental suitability an important consideration. Heat, humidity, heavy rain and changing weather conditions can all affect outdoor equipment over time. Installing the cameras under the eaves gives me a practical mounting position, although I will be interested to see how the system performs over an extended period in tropical conditions. Buyers planning a similar installation should check the equipment's environmental specifications and consider suitable mounting positions and protection.I also intend to learn more about how the system behaves when network connectivity is interrupted. Having HomeBase and cameras gives me flexibility, but I would not assume that every feature or recording function will continue working normally during a Wi-Fi or internet outage without testing it. Anyone relying on the system for security should establish which functions remain available offline and how recordings are stored.Overall impressionI am enjoying the system, particularly its person tracking, event reporting, familiar-face recognition, automatic night-time spotlight, flexible sharing options and adaptable solar panel installation. My experience has also shown me that thoughtful installation matters just as much as the equipment itself. The right mounting accessories, carefully chosen camera positions and separate placement of the solar panels can help maximise coverage without unnecessarily increasing the number of cameras. For my purposes, this has been a very promising security system. I look forward to refining the setup and seeing how it performs over the longer term in a tropical environment.

Massive upgrade, fast setup and excellent performance
The HomeBase 3 has been a huge improvement for my Eufy setup. Installation was quick, the app picked it up straight away, and all my cameras connected without any issues. The upgraded AI is a real step up, with much better detection accuracy and faster alerts compared to the older models.I added my own SSD inside which means I never have to worry about storage. The system runs smoothly, recordings save instantly, and everything stays local which is a big bonus. The unit itself is quiet, well built, and has a clean modern design that fits nicely on a shelf. If you already use Eufy devices this upgrade is absolutely worth it, the performance boost and smarter detection make a big difference day to day.

Can't format and use SATA drive - not fit for purpose sold.
Avoid. Can't format a regular SATA drive. useless.I purchased a new Toshiba SATA drive (Model Number MQ01ABD100V-PS), correct specs, to use to expand the storage. The S380 is unable to format the drive, constantly prompts to format the drive, always fails when I follow the drive format steps (fault code -110). I'm stuck with the built in storage or trying to return the whole system, which is impractical now I've fitted the bloody cameras and doorbell!. Check the support forums before you buy, this issue (fussiness over drives and failure to format) is common.Update - 2 weeks into contacting Eufy support. I've been asked to connect the Toshiba hard drive (Model Number MQ01ABD100V-PS) to my laptop to check it formats on there, so had to purchase an adapter and of course it does (the hard drive is fine). Eufy's response:"After another round of careful review, we believe the issue is most likely caused by the hard drive not being compatible with the HomeBase 3. We understand this may be disappointing to hear, and weâre very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused."Other than being Toshiba-branded, my drive meets the spec. I think Eufy are making excuses, don't want to admit the Hub is faulty. I've pointed out that the drive meets the specs, formats and works fine with my PC, and queried whether HomeBase 3 has a brand-allergy.Update 2: Eufy are now (only now!) specifying which drives you should purchase to work with this HomeBase. "For the best stability and long-term performance, our technical team kindly recommends replacing it with a surveillance-grade hard drive, such as:- WD Purple- Seagate SkyHawk"Update 3: I asked Eufy is they can guarantee the above recommended drives will work with my HomeBase, and if they will refund me the purchase cost if I purchase one and the HomeBase fails to work with it. Eufy were"... unable to promise with absolute certainty that there will be no compatibility or formatting issues in every case. For this reason, we also would not be able to provide reimbursement for the hard drive cost if the formatting does not succeed."You have been warned...

Guter lokaler Speicher
Vgl. Fotos.

Great and easy to setup
Great and easy to setup. Good AI recognition features. I like the possibility of adding a HDD or SSD. I wouldâve liked to see more automations that would be relevant to daily use. However, for people that have the alarm system from eufy might be great. Overall happy with it and recommend one.
