Can I plug this into an iPad Air to use as my keyboard?

Would you consider a wireless Macally keyboard? We do have the SLIMBTKEYC that will work with your iPad Air. This keyboard is the same size & layout as the SLIM USB Wired Small Compact Mini Keyboard, however it features wireless Bluetooth connectivity and a slide out stand for your iPad Air.

Is there any way to turn off the bright blue power light on the keyboard?

Not from what I have seen besides putting your computer to sleep or turning off completely.
