Yes, that is exactly what it means. The LED version of this light has candle mode too. I recommend you spend a few more bucks and buy the LED version.

The product description says this is 8"x4"... that can't be right. So, how long is the flashlight please?

5 3/4 inches long if it is the one that takes 2 batteries.
