Midi-chaining nightmares no more...
Bought this 1-in 5-out midi thru box because it's the best value I can find and the other reviews helped a lot as well, thanks everybody :) I've been avoiding buying one, but the instrument-chaining finally became too big an ask due to my Gear Acquisition Syndrome. I've only had it 2 days but it's doing a fine job of sending midi thru to all five channels without any issues. It's just a plastic box with 6 holes in, no great piece of fancy engineering, but it seems solid enough and the connectors all fit spot on. Had a look at the other two products that are available for chaining to this device but I don't fancy them much, so can't speak of the extra connectivity that's available, but the cheapness is reflected in the 'hobbyist engineering' that you need to do to enable that lark. (I didn't mind building a Dreadbox Nyx Reissue, but that's a different game hah!) Conclusion: I think about all the faffing around that I accepted as part of life before thru-box, and now I feel free. Given a full five stars - how can I not? I am free!

Fantastic midi solution.
Really easy to setup and use. Until recently I had a spiderweb of midi cables and splitter cables to connect one midi outout on an audio interface to a few external analogue synths. This little box has replaced all the splitter cables meaning a less chaotic setup. Seems to be no noticeable latency issues, in fact I haven’t encountered any issues at all. Reasonable price and a piece of kit that works as described - can’t ask for better. Build quality is fine as well.

Great midi splitter for the price!
Great little 1 to 5 midi splitter. Inexpensive compared to other makes, and worked perfectly from the box. I could not detect any latency, even when chaining a couple together. Packaging was simple, and mostly recyclable. I have a few CME products, and I can't rate them highly enough.

Simple and effective
Does the job. It is USB powered and I'm sure that there are units out there that work without power, I could be wrong though. It appears that there is also and upgrade option to add WIDI as there are instructions on how to add the module chip inside the box. I set my Iridium to Ch2, my Hydrasynth to Ch1 and my Model 15 to Ch3. I connected the midi leads accordingly and cycled through the midi channels on my key step. Works like a charm. I've only put 4 stars for now as I have no idea about the longevity of the product.

Does exactly what it needs to do.
Does exactly what I needed. Plug one MIDI in, get four copies out. Requires USB C power, but can run off a standard usb socket, no high power needed. Feels solid as well, nothing loose and the case is decent quality plastic. I got one as I was having some issues with daisy chaining machines together, connecting them via this hub solved the problem right away.

Good MIDI hub on a pedalboard or remote rack
This one is good to connect a bunch of MIDI things together in a pedalboard or a rack. Since it takes two inputs. one wired and one wireless. You can now control your MIDI equipment remotely from an app or something. I have a bunch of CME WIDI devices and they seamlessly connect to each other on power up. ( only two at a time unless you make groups ) This is really helpful. I have two of these and both work as expected.
