Holbein Artist Gouache Set G703 : 18 x 5ml tubes

The Holbein Artist Gouache Set G703 is simply outstanding. As soon as I opened the box, I could tell this was a premium product — the colors are vibrant, rich, and beautifully opaque. Every tube is packed with highly pigmented paint that lays down smoothly and blends effortlessly. Why I love this set: Superb quality: The consistency of the paint is perfect right out of the tube — not too runny or thick — and the coverage is excellent. Beautiful color selection: The set offers a thoughtfully curated range of colors that are perfect for mixing or using straight from the tube. Professional results: Whether I’m doing fine detail work or bold washes, these paints deliver a professional finish every time. While this isn’t the cheapest gouache set on the market, the quality is unmatched and absolutely worth it if you’re serious about your work. Holbein truly lives up to its reputation — I’ll definitely be buying more of their paints in the future!

Very very expensive.and would prefer bigger tubes

I used M.Graham, Winsor Newton, Reeves, Sargeant, Arteza gouache before I used Holbein and I have nothing, but praise for Holbein. Striking, vibrant, gorgeous pigments, smooth layering, creamy consistency and they reactivate relatively easy on the palette. I keep mine inside a regular metalic palette. They do get hard and could crumble, but I don't care. I can just go over with a wet brush and easily lift up pigment to use. They mix very well. Some of the colors lift easier than others on paper when you layer, but it's the nature of the beast with gouache. Just go easy with the water and the brush stroke. They do dilute well and achieve beautiful watercolor effects. I find myself reaching for the Holbein set more often than with any other brand I have. I got a second set when they were on sale because I do not want to ever run out of this paint.

I'm a beginner to gouache and wanted to invest in a nice set to get myself started - this set is definitely pricey, but worth it for the quality. It's really easy to work with - super bright, pigmented, opaque (but you can dilute it for more transparent shades), and smooth when painting. The colors are beautiful and a little goes a long way.

I had been working with another brand of gouache and struggling a bit. An artist friend recommended these and they are great fun and very nice to work with. Not fighting the paint anymore.

The package came wet. Even though it was wrapped in plastic, the paper box was completely soaked. After opening the soggy box, I noticed the tubes had condensation on them (see pictures). However, the tubes and the contents were not damaged. Swatching the colors, they went down very smooth and very opaque. The colors are vibrant and beautiful. I bought an 18-well palette to put them in, and realized I only had 17 tubes (I got the 18-tube set). I am missing Pure Red but I did get Flame Red. Because of this, I only rate this 4 stars.

Great quality, great consistency. Very opaque and extremely pigmented. You get use out of every drop as leftover paint can be used as more of a standard watercolor.

Probably my favourite brand of gouache. It is highly pigmented and opaque. High quality product that preforms as expected. They are well worth the price tag. They also rewet on a dried palette nicely.

ホルベインは主に透明水彩絵の具を愛用しているが、 今回久しぶりにガッシュを購入してみた。 ガッシュは水彩画の一部分にのみ使うので、5mlのチューブでも十分足りる。 意外と絵の具の伸びがよく、部分的な使用では余る事もある。 使い心地はよく、発色も申し分ない。 どれだけ退色するかはわからないが、当分は大丈夫だろう。 良い買い物でした♪
