I had an unusual need. I wanted to use software on several different computers and wanted the data files to move with the software (in a non-networked environment). I have been using a USB flash drive for this purpose for several years. Flash storage would get slower and slower as the thumb drive was used. It also slowed the software down due to the transfer speed of the thumb drives. I then purchased this external SSD what was USB 3 connected and installed the software and data drives. What an amazing difference this made. The higher transfer speeds were immediately obvious and pleased me greatly. This SSD was well made, felt solid, had good quality cable, and was a convenient size. The SSD has a female USB-C interface. A patch cable (good quality) was supplied with a male USB-C on one end and a regular USB-A on the other. A connector to convert USB-A to USB=C was also supplied. I am running this on Windows 10 where it installed immediately without issue. This SSD appears as another disk drive to my system. When I was done using the Flash drive, I would right-click and select EJECT before removing the thumb drive. With this SSD, no EJECT appears when I right-click the drive icon in Windows Explorer. However, I found an EJECT in the task bar from Windows 10 that worked just fine. My one suggestion would be have documentation with the SSD that talks about how to safely remove it from your system. This was an excellent purchase, a tremendous value for the money, and I would certainly buy this again.

Owned it for a month so far, and for a 2TB SSD this seems to be a pretty good price. Haven't had any issues. It's much smaller than I thought it would be (which is good) and it has a sleek design. Very happy with it. Windows will often say there are corrupt files or issues with the drive, then after it runs a brief scan it says no issues were found. Not really sure if it's a problem with Windows or the item itself but something worth noting. If you plan on using the cable that comes with the product, just know it's very short so the SSD is likely to just hang from the cord (again it is very light)

this drive is outstanding. its small, light, quiet, fast and 2TB. I am using it as a backup drive but I may purchase a second one for travel. highly recommend this item. 9/11/23 UPDATE- The drive stopped working last week. I have changed the cord, tried other laptops but no luck. I contacted Timetec last week to request assistance but I have not heard back. I will report back on any progress. 9/30/23 update- I contacted Timetec customer service about the issue. They sent a prepaid label to return the drive. A replacement was sent after the return was received. I’m back to work with this drive. Customer service is pretty good. Very prompt and clear replies.

The first drive decided to brick. Couldn’t format it, nor did the computer recognize it. Manufacturer sent label to return the old drive, and they sent us a new one once they received the old drive. While the replaced drive didn’t brick transferring data, the message “there are errors on your drive, recommend scan and repair” did occur, but it did scan and repair, and so far has been working as advertised.

Really like these. Super fast and a lot of storage !

I bought this in July and it’s now August. I decided to run Mac OS Catalina on this drive to replace the slow hard drive on my Mac Mini. I have another computer doing the same with a competitor’s SSD drive. So, I gave this a shot since it’s an old computer. At first, I was getting speeds of around 400 MB/s which was way faster than the OG drive’s 80 MB/s. So, I use this to save files on around the house. Well, two days ago, it suddenly dropped in performance. The computer was laggy and apps were freezing. So, I ran a test again. These two images were taken about 15 seconds apart after the first completed the read/write cycle. It went from a paltry 153 MB/s write to an embarrassing 9.9 MB/s. I left it running and it’s now at 7.2 MB/s. My Apple Watch is faster. I don’t know what to do with this. Maybe back up text files since that’s all it’s good for. But what to do with the other 917 GB? Time to get a better brand.

Works great. It’s been several years since I bought it and there haven’t been any problems. The cord is excellent.

This has been my primary backup storage for over a year and contains most of my family pictures and other personal documents. I've had no complaints about its speed and while it can become fairly warm after extended periods of use, I'd probably consider buying this again if I ever need more backup storage.

J'en avais marre de payer une option tv chez mon opérateur alors que je ne l'utilise pas, mais je voulais encore pouvoir enregistrer les chaînes de la tnt, ayant un double tuner tnt avec fonction enregistreur, il me manquait juste un bon stockage, petit, rapide et de bonne capacité pour les programmes de mon épouse et de mes enfants (qui m'auraient étranglé si je retirais l'option tv sans pouvoir enregistrer the voice, kho-lanta ou plus belle la vie... 🤣🤣🤣) avec ce petit disque en très bonne qualité TNT HD il y a de quoi enregistrer près de 300h 🤣🤣🤣, lorsque vous regardez l'enregistrement vous avez l'impression de regarder la qualité originale de diffusion. Ça nous a fait faire de sacrée économie sans perte de confort. J'avais déjà testé son petit frère de 256Go qui m'avait et m'offre toujours sur un autre usage autant de satisfaction.
