Handsome speakers - mine are brown oak, and they actually generate decent bass + treble for 5" woofers. Unit has full size remote, adjustable EQ feature for bass / treble, easy to set up ( 5 minutes ). Came very well packaged in styrofoam inside double box, remote included batteries. Also includes separate AM and FM antennas. Only one frustration: can't figure out how to completely shut off via remote. It can be put into "idle" but never completely off. I will keep playing with remote to try to figure this out but now it is a challenge, small issue at best. Good sound for bedroom @ decent price - would recommend it.

Good sound easy to use

I was excited to get this! It took two weeks to arrive! I opened the box and it was a new unit! I Unboxed it and to my surprise no power cord! I looked and looked and there was none! Amazon said to contact Sharp first so I dud! The CSR told me because I bought it on Amazon I had to deal with Amazon! I was not about to pushed back and fourth between the two companies so I Boxed it up and sent it back! On first appearance it look nice. The player feels a little on the cheap side but I was not expecting a Denom quality player! Okay, I received the replacement and this time with a power cord! I set it up and it sounds great! It has an equalizer and it puts out some great sound for such a small machine! Please note the speakers have a proprietary connection so you will not be able to upgrade or switch out the speakers! This is perfect for me. My Bose Wave Radio/CD player went after 21 years and I did not want to abandon my cd collection! This fits the bill perfectly!

Very surprised with the sound. I hooked the bluetooth into my computer and I have yet to turn up past 12 and the bass is amazing, I've got the clock set and a couple local stations programed in already. It came 4 days ahead of the delivery date, and was packaged very well. Remote has batteries, has separate AM/FM antennas. It's really easy to hook up. Greta buy for the price.

If you have any need for a CD Player w/AM, FM & a Remote like I did, this Sharp XL-B530 is the BOMB! Great Sound, individual Bass & Treble Controls, plenty of Headroom, Clarity & Separation. Most importantly it has FF & RWD on the remote. For those of you who just have to involve your "smarter-than-I-phone", it has Bluetooth as well as RCA Aux inputs. I use it for those times when a song pops in my head that I hadn't played forever & I can't remember that one chord in the bridge (usually something like a Barre chord on the fifth fret). I just pop in the CD & replay it until I figure it out, and I don't even have to leave the guitar room. If I really want to play along, I use the headphone jack to connect to the PA system via Aux In. The best part...$129.99 on Amazon. Does it sound like a 70s Marantz or Yamaha Tuner & Amp? Well no...but it doesn't have to.

I seldom write a bad interview on anything. Things like sound quality, looks and feel of quality are so subjective. One person's Gold in another person's lead. However, in this case the company that 3rd party provided the item would not communicate back to me over issues, even though I tried three times. At lease they allowed me to return the item for a full refund because Amazon was involved, and that was that. I grade them poor on their lack of ability to respond to a customers needs. Very poor. Bad business. I will never deal with them again.

Ok, I'm an audiophile but I enjoy a variety of music and this unit makes me happy. Bought this to replace an Onkyo shelf unit. It never worked right and sound quality was marginal. The Sharp has an adjustable display. Good power output and the speakers are able to handle the higher volume. Oh the unit has a CD player which is one of the main reasons I chose it. I would buy it again.

The stereo unit itself seems to work well. The speakers are weak. Sound cheap and tinny. Unfortuately, this unit does not come with your standard speaker output ports. Uses connector plugs instead. Speaker wires are attached directly to the speaker itself. Might try cutting the wires and connecting them to different speakers. Speaker wires seem very thin. The unit's power output might also be an issue. Fingers crossed! UPDATE June, 2023: Using some connector parts I found on ebay and 18 gauge speaker wire, I was able to connect this stereo unit to Bose 161 speakers. Works well, sounds much better. Stereo unit is working well.
