Works great and folds up neatly into 1/3 length. It holds a good amount of weight and while using it I've found it closes completely so I can grab small objects not just small ones.

UPDATE- the company contacted me quickly in regards to my issues with the grabber. They generously offered to refund my purchase and did not ask me to delete or update my review to qualify. I did receive the refund and I am choosing on my own to update my review. Any company who acts this responsibly without pressure is worth supporting. I will buy from them in the future. Original review- I really wanted this to work for me as I get older bending down is getting a tad hard. I’m blessed with being able to get to a beach to walk a lot. As a way to give back I pluck up trash here and there. My trusty picker gave out after about a decade. This one doesn’t grasp very well and often takes try after try to get things. While that was ever so annoying I rolled with it. Then I tried to get a small box that had slid to the front of my truck bed and when I picked it up the handle just snapped. The cheap plastic clasp had broken right off. This box had less than a lb in it so it wasn’t over stresses at all.

Best grabber tool I have ever had. I had dropped something important behind the stove and there would have been no way to maneuver a rigid pole in that space. Unlatching the top bracket allowed me to get it back there. Worked like a charm! I also appreciate how it folds up for easy storage. And I think the magnet feature will come in handy.

I got this to collect eggs with from chickens try to hoard them. This is easy to use. Very very light weight. It wouldn't hold to much more than an egg. The rotation aspect is nice. It has a decent but light grip. It has a light weight magnet that could pick up a few screws if you dropped them. I didn't like the fold aspect at first i was after more of an extend it as you need it. If i want something 3 inches away a 4ft Pole is hard to maneuver but it folding up makes it really easy to store. The joints are a bit weak but again i was just using it for eggs so over all it accomplishes my goals. I'm satisfied with it.

I’ve had a few reachers, they are handy tools. Handy to carry and steady in use. They don’t last forever at this price point but that’s usually user error in having a careless toss them around attitude that spells doom. Well, this one is nice enough, does what you expect it to do, then it became the Holy Grail. My Smoke and CO2 detector went off the rails and was hitting me with the three beeps at 85 decibels at regular intervals. It may not drive the ants, mice, and pterodactyl out but the humans are ready for surrender, just make it stop. You can’t get it down without an NBA player or a ladder. Desperation! Not only can this reach the deafening terror, it gripped it and allowed me to turn it! I just slid the grabber arms around it and gently pushed upward for them to spread out and get a good grip. It allowed me to turn the detector in its base and after 2 or 3 turns, voila, it was out! It’s now known as Demon Hunter. I may buy it a friend as backup.

Our yard is home to a large number of very tall pine trees. They keep the back side of our house warm in the winter and cool in the summer. We love them! Our front yard, though, is about 150 feet by 70 feet--and the glorious pine trees assure us a nearly continuous "crop" of fallen pine cones, pieces of bark, small-to-medium branches, and leaves. The only problem? The year-round "harvest" of fallen pine cones, etc., is daunting! I looked at numerous tools for picking up pine cones. Some are meant for large yards and need to be pulled behind a tractor. Others are specially made for raking large harvests of pine cones. But our yard is littered with pine cones, etc., nearly year-round. In the few weeks of the year that hundreds fall every day or three, one of the "industrial-sized" tools might be useful. For the vast majority of the year, though, we get 20 to 50 or so pine cones every day or two. That means that tractor-pulled solutions would be more work (and gas) than they're worth—and that even the special rakes, etc., would only be worth the effort a few weeks of the year. What to do? I finally settled on this low-cost, lightweight tool. I carry it with me in one hand and carry the plastic top of our "yard waste trash barrel", upside down in the other. The trash-barrel top serves as an impromptu "tray" that I hold in my hand not carrying the "grabber tool": I walk around the yard, picking up pine cones with the grabber (never having to bend down) and then dropping the pine cones, etc., into the "tray" (that is, the upside-down trash barrel cover), one or two pine cones, etc., at a time. On the busiest pine-cone days, I fill (and empty) the "tray" three times. On more typical days in the spring and early summer, I fill it once a day. For my particular yard, this tool (plus my handy, inverted barrel-top) forms the ideal, economical, year-round solution. The grabber tool is 1) lightweight, 2) long enough to avoid me bending over to pick up pine up the "pine tree gifts", and 3) easy to store. It works equally well (4) to pick up pine cones, leaves, modest-to-small branches, and bark, etc. It' would not be ideal for a huge yard, I suppose. But it works great in our yard, and is useful no matter how many or few pine cones, etc., drop on any given day. Inexpensive, light, and versatile: what more could you ask for?

Works well but not very strong. Don't try to pick up anything over 5 lbs. The arm will separate.
