ATEN USB to Serial was shipped. Not IOGear. But they worked just as well.

Works with Windows 7 64-bit
Get the 64-bit driver from the IOGear web site and it works OK. I've used it to connect a couple of professional monitoring instruments and the driver was found by their respective software.

At first I thought it might be counterfeit because it showed up as Prolific in device manager. Then I remember I had the Prolific drivers installed from an old Startech PoS I was trying to use. I deleted those drivers and it picked up the proper Iotech drivers and worked great. If you aren’t familiar, a lot of these use prolific drivers, and you do not want those ones. They are unsigned and if you work on an enterprise machine you can’t allow unsigned drivers due to GPO and Bitlocker. This is the only brand I am aware of that uses good, signed drivers. No fuss, just works.

I was reccomended an IO Gear USB Serial converter by a trusted professional to program on old radio of mine. Obviously a lot of computers theses days don't have a serial port so this device is a must for using any leagcy systems. I had tried a number of other USB serial converters with every driver available and was still having issues with connecting the device to my computer. I tried the IO Gear USB Serial Converter that I know uses the FDTI chip, it came well ans imply packaged although I still had to go online to get the correct drivers. A short simple installation process later and hey presto by radio connected straight away without issue. I now ensure I have an IO GEAR USB SERIAL CONVERTER in all my interface kits just in case.
