Quantek Garage Door Remote Control Transmitter and Receiver Kit - Universal

I had already purchased a replacement remote for my Stanley Garage doors as the originals were lost . The direct replacement sent originally could not be programmed to work with my door system although the product number of my doors was included in the sales description. I therefore requested a refund. I then spotted this remote system and decided to give it a go. The receiver unit was very straight forward to wire into the existing push buttons and the transmitters (2) were already programmed to go. The added bonus was that the receiver has two channels and the transmitter has buttons A and B. If you have two doors as I have you can then wire both doors to operate from one transmitter as I did. The only irritating thing was that the push fit cable connectors inside the receiver unit I found very very fiddly when terminating the cables. I am, however delighted with the kit, the ease of installation overall and I now have two fully operational garage doors. It is early days yet but hopefully they will last a reasonable time without breaking. For the price I would definitely recommend these remote units.

I moved into a house with an existing bell push garage door but remotes had been lost by the previous owner. The door is fully functional from the bell push but no one seemed to stock the remote control. Obviously the remote is vital if you want to make full use of the door and be able to open it from outside. I looked at other solutions but the Quantek solution was a great find. It was extremely easy to install less than 10 minutes and required minimal wiring and the remotes were already pre programmed.A great product and very competitive price - saved my having to buy a new system. I get a lots of stuff from Amazon and rarely leave reviews but felt I should say something about this one - excellent.

Excellent, simple and quick to install. Does exactly what it says it will. It took me less than 5 minutes it install and worked straight away.I am not leaving 5 stars as I feel that the remotes are very cheap feeling, I am worried that they will fall to pieces being jostled in a pocket or bag attached to my keys.

This remote is a very good solution since it simply works the existing door control switch. As such it can be fitted without removing any existing remote or push-button opening systems.The device supplied has two relays each operated by it's own button on the fob enabling two items to be controlled (e.g. light & door or 2 doors)If you have just one garage door and want to press either button on the fob to open it, the (two) relays in the receiver can be cross wired. Do this in the receiver by wiring the left terminal of relay 1 to the left terminal of relay 2 & similarly right to right in addition to conecting the switch wires as instructed. This 'hack' is not in documentation supplied.Cross wiring was confirmed as OK by Quantek technical staff, who surprised me with the speed of response to my phone call. Well done!Very pleased :-)

It's simple to fit and use but one of the key fobs doesn't work very well. Quality may be an issue.

I have a Hormann automatic opener with a hard wired switch and remote control. Although now 13 years old, the door works perfectly, but the remote (my third) is now on the blink, and a replacement is £55!I ordered this solution more in hope than expectation, as it seems too good to be true that I could have two new remotes and a solution to my problem for £30 with free shipping.It arrived in three days (standard shipping), and took me only half an hour to fit (I am no electrician, and it really is easier than fitting a three pin plug). The remotes are pre-programmed and work perfectly. They are wired to the switch, so they do not affect the existing remote or receiver.I cannot recommend this product highly enough. Just one proviso – the wire supplied allows only about twelve feet from switch to power supply, and wiring over a single door uses up most of this.

The unit worked well though I've had nothing but issues with the remotes buttons wearing out after a few weeks. I've had to rewire the receiver to use the second button and now this has broken. The new remotes are also very expensive for what they appear to be, I'm now tasked with either repairing the remote or buying a new one.I'm inclined to look for a better solution and prevent continuously paying for substandard products.

This is a brilliant solution to my problem after losing my original remote transmitter for my obsolete up and over Chamberlain garage door. I trolled the internet for a solution that was'nt too expensive but nearly gave up and was considering paying more than £140 for a replacement kit when I chanced on the Quantec universal kit at £39.00. I found the kit simple to fit and it worked well first time on both the fobs supplied and had a good range, more than enough for my purpose. I ca'nt praise Quantec enough for their product. I am happy to leave this feedback to help any others with a similar problem.
