This pillow helped a great deal after my vitrectomy surgery. In addition to the post op rental equipment I ordered, this pillow was a saving grace. It was perfectly comfortable for sleeping face down and kept my head still. The hole was big enough and the side pieces were movable. (Use a fan if it gets too warm.) It made my recuperation much more manageable. Very grateful for this product.

I have tried numerous other Face/Prone pillows and none of them were comfortable. They were actually uncomfortable. This one is truly the one you can actually fall asleep using. My problem is not eye surgery recovery, but is an ongoing issue of pressure sores on my bottom. I am wheel chair bound, and I need relief from recurring pressure sores. I have MS and have severe atrophy in my lower body due to my inability to walk. I have no “cushion” anymore to keep my bony self comfortable. Lying on my side in bed provides relief, but I cannot always lay that way without having pain in my greater trochanter area. I needed to find a way to lye on my stomach to relive the pressure in my bottom and sides. Also, with limited head rotation due to cervical spine fusion, sleeping on my stomach with my head turned to the side is not an option. I have found this face pillow to be the perfect solution. It is constructed of very soft material, and is firm enough to keep my face elevated and breath without problems. It also assists in elevating my torso, lessening the on my neck as my face is elevated in the pillow. I do however, need to keep an additional pillow under my chest to elevate it more. Others have complained that the hole is too small. I have a big head, and it fits me well. Of course I do not have to worry about any eye pressure against the cushion, as I have not had eye surgery. If the hole was any bigger, it would not support the weight of my head anyways, and my face would just fall through hole. This is the face cushion you need if you are trying so lye on your stomach, and you can’t turn your head.

This is a very sturdy and soft pillow. I bought it in advance of a retinal detachment repair surgery when I was told I would need to remain face-down for 2 weeks. It turns out I could lay on one side, which I preferred, so I did not use the pillow. Upon my initial testing prior to the surgery, I was very happy with the comfort and fit. The only think I wonder is if it would get too hot with the fleece covering.

After my vitrectomy, I didn’t know how I was going to sleep face down positioning all night, this pillow was terrific. Very comfortable and soft. I put a small fan on my nightstand, as another person suggested, and it brought some fresh air under the arches. Also very good on sofa during the day. Would definitely recommend.

Terrible product. The pillow was obviously used by someone else due to the scent left behind. I had no choice but to place a cloth around the pillow as I had surgery that day. Pillow was very hard against my chin. It was hot with little airflow. It was an elevated pillow which caused neck, lower back, and knee pain after just a half hour of use. Please find a different product.

Quality product and comfortable enough. I'm a CPAP user and wanted to try sleeping in a prone position with my face not to the side. There is room enough to use a full face mask. Though a quality pillow, it wasn't that comfortable for me, but merely a matter of personal taste and not a design issue.

Before my wife was scheduled for retina surgery I order this. The product works well for the intended purpose. The vents help with the hot air build up, but we put a little fan on low in the front vent to help dissipate the hot air. Make sure you don't put the pillow up against the arm of a couch or headboard.

Used after surgery. Worked well.
