Great product.

The telescope arrived broken. I am most disappointed. The eye view was cracked. My daughter needed it for a particular project. Again, utterly disappointed.

I'd say it does pretty much what it says on the can. What is doesn't say - is that the image you see in inverted - so, if you use this to inspect image detail - or lettering - it's all upside down. Makes moving about a subject confusing - thus the 3 stars and not 5. If that's not an issue for you - then see this as a 5 star rating...

Works great for viewing plant details. Handling is much easier then typical the box sized pocket microscopes with 2 adjustment wheels. I think it is the same concept in a different package, but the small diameter allows access to plant details between leaves, and adjusting while holding the pen works ok. Also, after use it stores away like a pencil, in any drawer or pocket. I find the build quality to be very good for this price, much better then the box shaped ones. Doesn't feel flimsy at all. The design of the clear plastic tip is also very clever if you want to look at things on a table. The LED does not seem to disturb colors too much. Of course, this is not a professional microscope, images can be a little deformed. But if you just want to see plant details in order to determine ideal harvest time for example, need something small, handy, portable, cheap, durable, ... this might be a good choice. side note : After ordering nothing happened for weeks, suddenly I got an email that I hadn't been charged because the pen was not in stock or something, after that delivery time was normal.

Disappointed. This was a present for someone, but when it was opened the light failed to work which rendered it useless. So it's off to buy some new batteries tomorrow. Hopefully that will sort it out unless the light itself is defective.

I had something like this years ago from a Radioshack in America. When I saw this for sale, I knew my boy would love it - for any amateur scientist, this makes for fascinating viewing. Just put on the light and look at stuff really close up. It's amazing what you can see. In comparison to telescopes designed for kids, the experience this gives makes them look rubbish, the quality of this device is top notch.

Excellent product

This is just so amazing! We got it for our 11 yr. old son for Christmas. You can see every part of a hair shaft, take it anywhere and view everything that normally wouldn't fit under a traditional microscope. However, it IS the size of a regular pen, and he lost it within a few weeks. So be very careful and keep it in a safe spot!
