desertcart.com : Lime Sulfur Dip, 16 Oz : Pet Supplies Review: Works great! - We took a couple of our cats at a time to the VET because they were developing lesions. We weren't sure what they were, and after the third trip they thought it might be ringworm. They gave us some different stuff that still didn't work, so after all 5 of our cats started developing these lesions, we went to a different VET, and he gave us a couple things along with this Lime Sulfur Dip. I mixed about 4 oz. with a gallon of water per directions, and I was able to use the one gallon to soak all 5 cats. The lesions dissappeared within two weeks. One cat seems to be developing a spot again after 2 months or so, but it really worked wonders. Down side is it is a very strong odor, which I didn't mind, but my wife was't too thrilled about. After washing any splashes off of myself and after the cats had dried, they smelled like fireworks, which was an interesting smell, but again didn't bother me. It also turned the white cat a little yellow for a couple days, but again turned back to normal after a few days. Definately a good product, and I would recommend for any types of parasites that react to the Lime Sulfur. For the person that it did't work for, I'm sorry, but maybe your cats had something different than ringworm or some other parasite that wasn't responsive to the Lime. Review: Lime Sulfer Dip - I wish I could have had a better review for this item but, unfortunately it didn't work very well. I guess it depends on what skin condition your pet has and how bad it is.

Totally Works!
This stuff cleared up my cat's ring worm in one use, however... it stinks really bad and is a pain in the butt to go through the process of using it. My cat stank like rotten eggs for two weeks. I would still use this again if I needed to, better than ring worm!

Works Great On Ringworm
Our LAB had a ringworm infection, which was misdiagnosed as allergies for almost a year. Ringworm is not really a "worm", but a fungal infection of the SKIN. When we finally had the right diagnosis we tried both, topical and oral fungicides, without any success. So FINALLY the vet suggested we do Lime Sulfur "dips", which we did for a month twice a week. The fungus is gone. First we gave the dog a shower with Microtec dog shampoo (Valley Vet) mainly to get rid of his skin oils; to make the diluted Lime Sulfur dip better penetrate his coat and not just pearl off. The first two times we gave him a full body rinse. Since I did not want this stuff stinking up the house and discoloring our bathtub we used a plastic tub (large storage container will do) outside, saved the solution, and reused it to save $$$. From the second week on we just did the shower and spot treated. I figured that any spores in his coat had to be dead by that time. Since you are not allowed to rinse or dry the solution off I walked him after the treatment for a while to let him get as dry as possible before allowing him back in the house, where he had to lay down on towels until he was dry enough to not leave yellow stains all over. Because Ringworm is highly contagious (the spores stay alive in the carpet and bedding) I got Microban disinfection spray and used it all over the house. The gallon costs about $ 27.- and therefore is a lot cheaper than professionally steam cleaning the carpets. While all this was going on I used cotton sheets to cover all the dog beds, which I changed/washed/dried on high heat on treatment days.

GREATEST skin medication ever!
LOVE this stuff! I had used it for years on everything from skin fungus on my horses to skin conditions on my dogs, cats & human family members (athlete's foot for example)! Kills ringworm on contact! Also kills the itch & swelling of bug bites. Originally, it was sold as a rose spray treatment by a garden chemical company. It was discontinued out in my area of the Southwest many years ago & we had trouble finding anything that remotely worked like it. Finally gave up until recently. Found it by accident when I was looking for a ringworm med. for a new cat I just recently adopted. Amazon had the best price & by the smell (rotten eggs, lol!), it is the same stuff of years ago! Can't praise it enough. Just goes to prove that the old-time remedies sometimes are really the best!

Great product! Really worked on my poor dog!
My duschund was scratching really bad and after reading the cause on the internet, I proceeded to look for something that would relieve him of the horrible dry skin! I shampooed my dog once with this product and already you can tell the relief in his face! I made sure to soak him in the solution as long as I could and it really helped him quiet a bit - great product!

Does Not Work
We used this product according to the manufacturer's and vet's prescriptions. It did not work at all. Our cat still has the same problem it had before we gave it any dip baths at all. To say the least, we are very disappointed with this purchase.

Not as potent as I expected.
I purchased this for my dog and after reading the reviews on it, I was ready for a horrid smell. While I didn't enjoy the sulfur smell, it wasn't as potent as I was expecting, and I was pleasantly surprised. This was easy to use and my dog endured through it well. The seller shipped this fast and the packaging was great.
