Mega Mini Magimix
CAPACITY:Liquid capacity is 1 Imperial pint [570 ml] which fills the clear plastic cylinder bowl 3/4 full - do not fill higher with liquid because the extra will pour out via the central spindle hole of the bowl which is lower than the outer lip of the bowl. The Magimix user guide, which includes an extensive set of recipes at the back, states that the cylinder bowl should not be filled beyond 2/3 full & on that basis the true capacity of this chopper is 0.8 Imperial pints [460ml] - far short of the 1.4 Imperial pints [0.8 L] in the product description at Amazon UK.POWER CORD LENGTH3 ft [or make it 2ft or 1 ft by winding the cord in the base recess]ACCESSORIESA yellow plastic blade can be swapped in for the steel chopper to mix rather than chop - useful for saucesA mini-spatula to scrape out the bottom of the bowl"PULSE" & "CONTINUOUS MODE"This is sales double speak. There's a silver button on the front of the body with the word "PULSE" printed on it & the device only chops when the button is being pushed, if you stop pushing the button the motor stops. I think it's a reasonable design decision because chopping solids or emulsifying liquids on this micro scale takes only seconds.TASKSVery, very sharp stainless rotary blades will chop almost any food including meat - NOT SUITABLE for hard stuff such as coffee beans or nutmeg seeds, but it can easily handle all shelled nuts otherwise. Very good at chopping ginger.Put the solids in after the blade unit - not solids firstIf working with solids & liquids at once, then chop the solids before adding the liquidSAFETYDevice will not operate without the bowl securely attached to the base & the lid securely attached to the bowl. There are two places in the lid for solids or liquids to be poured in, but it is impossible for even babies fingers to get inside that way. A very safe machine as long as you're not daft enough to put the body in a washing bowlPROS & CONSI see complaints about the cord length, but I think it's not especially shortI see complaints about liquids splashing out through the lid, but that's impossible if one doesn't overfill past 2/3This is NOT a substitute for a smoothie/nutrition drink maker, it will do a very nice job of chopping veg and/or herbs as a base for curries, stews & casseroles or for making sauces/dips such as mayonnaise, tartar, pesto, citrus vinaigrette, guacamole, taramasalata or tzatziki.Motor is plenty powerful enough & yet it's quietBUILD & AESTHETICSAlthough it's a plastic body the build is robust & it's nicely heavy. It's easy to unscrew lid & bowl one handed without the Magimix Mini sliding around - the rubber feet are effective. There's a complaint about the components being difficult to put into place, but frankly this is absurd - the blade slides down onto the spindle only if a slot in the blade unit mates with a lug on the spindle, it's child's play to turn the blade unit until oriented correctly to the spindle.MY VERDICTI am very pleased with the compactness & the utility of the device. I love the colour of my bright red Magimix & it's very easy to clean. Wash the blade by hand separately & then put it back on the spindle for safe keeping10/10

As good as any food chopper only smaller, and French too
I have always wanted a kitchen gadget to chop food up quickly and efficiently but have baulked at the price of some of the market leading products from the likes of Kenwood, Bosch and KitchenAid. When you think about it, there is not much to these products other than a variable speed motor, a controller, a sharp cutting thing and a bowl which makes the prices that are demanded by some manufacturers to be eye watering. Some people always insist on the best and I suspect there is some psychology going on here with inflated aspirational pricing structures and celebrity chef endorsements to make these food choppers appeal to those who are long on cash and low on confidence in their kitchen abilities wanting to compensate.Other manufacturers have entered this market including electrical giants such as Phillips, Smeg, Panasonic and Breville (let's face it who has a sandwich toaster these days?) and there have been some Chinese entrants too including Royalstar, Joyang and Xiaomi and it is now more confusing than it has ever been to select the right product. My solution to this conundrum was to see what the French do. Let's face it, when it comes to food, they are the best and there is no such thing as a celebrity chef in France as everyone can cook. And Magimix is a French owned and French made brand that is apparently the market leader in France. That is all the encouragement I needed to hit the "buy" button. This Magimix 18112 Le Micro Food Chopper is compact (polite way of saying small) but does the job well and quickly. And what is the point of having a large chopper that will take an age to clean and will not fit in your dishwasher. If you want to chop more food then the solution is to do another batch. It really does not take long and this compact (small) chopper does not take up too much space in the cupboard, and I would not want to have my kitchen cluttered with gadgets on the work surfaces so this is ideal. And at this laughably low price compared to the large machines this is an absolute bargain too. Great product, great price and no I have not been paid to say this and it was not a free product. Five stars.

The extra cost is worth it.
I decided to learn to cook, having reached the decision that I was eating far to many Take Aways. So I bought a few Cookbooks and some high end appliances to make the process of Cooking easier. This was one, and features - Metal Die Cast body - Powerful quiet 290 watt motor - Sturdy robust feel - Ultra sharp metal Sabatier blades - Plastic blade - Spatula - Comprehensive Recipe book- 3year warranty - Easy to clean - Small footprintThe Le Micro gets daily use from chopping vegetables, making Sauces, Dips, to creating Masalas with perfect results every time.Having bought a number of Cuisinart products, the Cuisinart CH4 BCU was another option for me but having seen it at Lakeland its Plastic lightweight feel was not for me.I bought a used Le Micro from Amazon Warehouse which turned up complete, in like new condition, for the same price as the Cuisinart which was a "No Brainer" for me.If you do decide to buy a Magimix Le Micro you will not be disappointed if your needs are to chop and blend time after time, in small quantities with the minimum fuss.As a footnote I am not in anyway affiliated to Magimix, just a guy who now enjoys the joy of home cooked meals and puds.

Great machine, this is my second and I had the last one for approx 25 years and would highly recommend it

Absolutely brilliant
I was a bit reluctant to buy this as I felt it was maybe too small, I have since bought a larger food pro but no way would I get rid of this little one, it is fantastic for making quick small amounts, easy to use and easy to clean.Favourite use is bread crumbs and chopping up cheese instead of grating it Brilliant

Very efficient, neat and pretty machine
I needed to replace my 25yr old Russell Hobbs mini chopper as the blades had finally become blunt. With such legacy I was tempted to replace like for like but I was attracted to the larger capacity to make flavoured butters, dips and salsas for barbecues etc. Although I didn’t realise I had in fact struggled on with ‘old faithful’ upon using this product for the first time I realise I should have bought one years ago. Nothing has proven too difficult for it and it is very easy to use. Hopefully it will continue and provide similar length of service. Highly recommend!

Great. Works well. What more could you ask?

Don’t buy this. Not for Canadian electricity current
I bought this item from Amazon’s third seller party. It came to me with an European prong. It would be dangerous to use in Canada. I requested a refund but they refused to send me a paid return label. I have to pay to return this item
