Timken bearings are some of the best bearings you can buy. I have used timken for years and they have performed flawlessly.

The wheels on the bus go round and round. I bought this bearing for a child's toy. I washed off the original grease coating and put on a light coating of food-safe silicon oil. This new toy demonstrates a lot of things: -- It's an actual vehicle part that most people don't see. -- Everything's rolling, so little friction with little heat and wear. This is why bearings are so important. -- Roller bearings support more weight than the ball bearings in a bicycle because there's more surface contact. -- The conical shell makes it possible to adjust bearing tightness (like in a bicycle). -- It demonstrates planetary gears. Hold the inner shell. The bearing cage moves at a lower speed than the outer shell. -- And you can spin it around your finger.

I was suprised the original bearings that came with the truck were Timkens! I was glad to put the same ones back in. I've used Timken bearings for many years during my mechanics career. The originals lasted 30 years.
